CONFESSION BEFORE DEATH
“One who confesses and renounces his sins finds mercy” (Prov. 28:13). “When a person is sick and close to death, he or she is told: make a confession” (*Shabbat* 32a). These prayers are supreme testimonies of faith, as the human soul reaches upward to the world of souls.
