**KABBALAT SHABBAT**
On festivals, the full *Kabbalat Shabbat* service, with its first six psalms and *Lekha Dodi*, is not said. Only Psalms 92 and 93 are said since they relate directly to the day. *A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day* refers, according to the sages, to the Sabbath at the end of days, when the world will be at peace and there will be neither strife nor war. At that time, in the full perspective of history, it will be seen that evil – though it seems to grow like grass – may win the battle but not the war. Evil is shortsighted and short lived. In the long run, tyrants are defeated and totalitarian regimes fall. Human dignity – the fact that we are all in God’s image – cannot be forever denied. In the end, justice rules.
