שַׁבַּחוּ קֳדָם יְיָ אֲרוּם טָב אֲרוּם לַעֲלַם טוּבֵיהּ:
Praisebefore the LORD, for He is good — for eternal is His goodness!
יֵימְרוּן כְדוּן יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲרוּם לַעֲלַם טוּבֵיהּ:
Let Israel now say — for eternal is His goodness!
יֵימְרוּן כְּדוּן בֵּית אַהֲרֹן אֲרוּם לַעֲלַם טוּבֵיהּ:
Let the house of Aaron now say — for eternal is His goodness!
יֵימְרוּן כְּדוּן דַחֲלַיָא דַייָ אֲרוּם לַעֲלַם טוּבֵיהּ:
Let the reverent of the LORD now say — for eternal is His goodness!
מִן עָקְתָא קְרֵיתִי יָהּ קַבֵּל צְלוֹתִי בְּפַתְיָא יָהּ:
From stress, I called to Yah; Yah received my plea in a broad place.
מֵימְרָא דַייָ בְּסַעֲדִי לָא אֶדְחַל מָא יַעְבֵּיד לִי בַּר נָשׁ:
The Word of the LORD is myhelp; I will not fear; what can a human do to me?
מֵימְרָא דַייָ לְמִסְעֲדָא יָתִי וַאֲנָא אֶחְמֵי פּוּרְעֲנוּתָא בְּסָנְאָי:
The Word of the LORD is my help; and I will see the punishment of my foes.
טָב לְמִתְרְחָצָא בְּמֵימְרָא דַייָ מִן לְמִרְחָץ בְּבַר נָשׁ:
It is better to trust inthe Word of the LORD than to trust in humans.
טָב לְמִתְרְחָצָא בְּמֵימְרָא דַייָ מִן לְמִרְחָץ בְּרַבְרְבַיָא:
It is better to trust inthe Word of the LORD than to trust in nobles.
כָּל עַמְמַיָא חֲזַרוּ יָתִי בְּשׁוּם מֵימְרָא דַייָ רַחֲצִית אֲרוּם אֶתְּשִׁנוּן:
All the nations surrounded me; in the name ofthe Word of the LORDI have trusted, for I will tear them apart.
אַקִיפִין לִי אַף חֲזַרוּ יָתִי בְּשׁוּם מֵימְרָא דַייָ רַחֲצִית אֲרוּם אֶתְּשִׁנוּן:
They encompassed me, yea, surrounded me; in the name ofthe Word of the LORDI have trusted, for I will tear them apart.
אַקִיפוּן לִי הֵיךְ זְבוּרְיָתָא דָלְקִין הֵיךְ אֶשְׁתָּא בְּכוּבִין בְּשׁוּם מֵימְרָא דַייָ רַחֲצֵית אֲרוּם אֶתְּשִׁנוּן:
They encompassed me likehornets, burning like firein thorns; in the name ofthe Word of the LORDI have trusted, for I will tear them apart.
מִדְחֵי דְחִיתָא יָתִי לְמִנְפַּל וּמֵימְרָא דַייָ סַיְעַנִי:
Lowered, You lowered me to fall, butthe Word of the LORD helped me.
תּוּקְפִי וְתוּשְׁבַּחְתִּי דְחִיל עַל כָּל עַלְמָא יְיָ אֲמַר בְּמֵימְרֵיהּ וַהֲוָה לִי לְפָרִיק:
My strength and mypraise isawesome against all the world; the LORD said in His Word that He will be my salvation.
קַל תּוּשְׁבַּחְתָּא וּפוּרְקָנָא בְּמַשְׁכְּנֵהוֹן דְצַדִיקֵי יְמִינָא דַייָ עַבְדַת חֵילָא:
The voice ofpraise and salvation in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD does power!
יְמִינָא דַייָ מְרַמְמָא יְמִינָא דַייָ עַבְדַת חֵילָא:
The right hand of the LORD is exalted; the right hand of the LORD does power!
לָא אֱמוּת אֲרוּם אֱחֵי וְאֶשְׁתָּעֵי עוֹבְדֵי אֱלָהָא:
I will not die, for I will live, and I will narrate the works of God.
מִכְסְנָא אַכְסְנַנִי יָהּ וּלְמוֹתָא לָא מְסַר יָתִי:
Impoverished, Yah hasimpoverished me, but to death He has nothanded me over.
פְּתַחוּ לִי מַעֲלָנֵי קַרְתָּא דְצִדְקָא אֵעוֹל בְּהוֹן אֲשַׁבַּח יָהּ:
Open for me the gates of thecity of the righteous; I willenter them, I willpraise Yah.
דֵין מַעֲלָנָא דְבֵית מַקְדָשָׁא דַייָ צַדִיקַיָא יַעֲלוּן בֵּיהּ:
This is the gate of the sanctuary-house of the LORD; the righteous willenterit.
אֲהוֹדֵי קֳדָמָךְ אֲרוּם קַבֵּלְתָּא צְלוֹתִי וַהֲוֵיתָא לִי לְפָרִיק:
I will thank before You, for You received my plea and were for me a salvation.
טַלְיָא שְׁבִיקוּ אַרְדִיכְלַיָא הֲוָה בְנֵי בָנַיָא דְיִשַׁי וְזַכָּאָה לְאִתְמַנָאָה לִמְלִיךְ וְשׁוּלְטָן:
The child the architects rejected was of the descendants of Jesse, and merited to be appointed king and ruler.
מִן קֳדָם יְיָ הֲוָת דָא אֲמַרוּ אַרְדִיכְלַיָא הִיא פְרִישָׁא קַדְמָנָא אֲמַרוּ בְנוֹי דְיִשָׁי:
"Frombefore the LORD was this!" said the architects. "It is wonderfulbefore us!" said the descendants of Jesse.
דֵין יוֹמָא עֲבַד יְיָ אֲמַרוּ אַרְדִיכְלַיָא נְדוּץ וְנֶחְדֵי בֵיהּ אֲמַרוּ בְנוֹי דְיִשָׁי:
"This is the day the LORD made!" said the architects. "Let us rejoice and celebrate in it! said the descendants of Jesse.
בְּבָעוּ מִנָךְ יְיָ כְּדוּן אֲמַרוּ אַרְדִיכְלַיָא בְּבָעוּ מִנָךְ יְיָ אַצְלַח כְּדוּן אֲמַרוּ יִשַׁי וְאִנְתְּתֵיהּ:
"If it pleases You, LORD, savenotenow!" said the architects. "If it pleases You, LORD, grant success now!" said Jesse and his wivfe.
בְּרִיךְ דְאָתֵי בְּשׁוּם מֵימְרָא דַייָ אֲמַרוּ אַרְדִיכְלֵי יְבָרְכוּן יַתְכוֹן מִן בֵית מַקְדָשָׁא דַייָ אֲמַר דָוִד:
"Blessed be he who comes in the name of the Word of the LORD," said the architects. "Bless them from thesanctuary-house of the LORD!" said David.
אֱלָהָא יְיָ אַנְהַר לָנָא אֲמַרוּ שִׁבְטַיָא דְבֵית יְהוּדָה כְּפִיתוּ טַלְיָא לְנִכְסַת חַגָא בְּשִׁלְשְׁלָוָן עַד דִי תִקְרְבוּנֵיהּ וְתִשְׁדוּן אַדְמֵיהּ בְּקַרְנַת מַדְבְּחָא אֲמַר שְׁמוּאֵל נְבִיָא:
"God is the LORD, who enlightened us!" said the tribes of the house of Judah."Bind thelamb for a festival sacrifice with cords until you sacrifice it and sprinkle its blood on the corners of the altar!" said Samuel the prophet.
אֱלָהִי אַתְּ וְאוֹדֵי קֳדָמָךְ אֱלָהִי אֲשַׁבְּחִינָךְ אֲמַר דָוִד:
"My God are You and I will thank before You; my God, I will praise You," said David.
מְתִיב שְׁמוּאֵל וַאֲמַר שַׁבַּחוּ כְנִשְׁתָּא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל אוֹדוּ קֳדָם יְיָ אֲרוּם טָב אֲרוּם לַעֲלַם טוּבֵיהּ:
Samuel responded and said, "Praise, assembly of Israel! Give thanksbefore the LORD, for He is good — for eternal is His goodness!"
