דְאַשְׁרֵי שְׁכִנְתֵּיהּ בְּרָזָא עִלָאָה בִּטְלַל עֲנָנֵי יְקָרָא דְשַׁדַי יְבִית:

With the shelter of his presencehe will shelter you, and you will be confident under the shelter of his glory; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

לָא תִדְחַל מִן דְלוּחָא דְמַזִיקֵי דְאָזְלִין בְּלֵילְיָא מִן גִרְרָא דְמַלְאָךְ מוֹתָא דְשָׁדֵי בִימָמָא:

Be not afraid of the terror of demons who walk atnight, of the arrow of the angel of death that he loosesduring the day;

מִן מוּתָא דִי בְקִבְלָא מְהַלֵךְ מִסִיעַת שֵׁידִין דִמְחַבְּלִין בְּטִיהֲרָא:

Of the deaththat walks in darkness, of the band of demonsthat attacks at noon.

תַּדְכַּר שְׁמָא דְקוּדְשָׁא יִפְּלוּן מִן סְטַר שְׂמָאלָךְ אַלְפָא וְרִבְבוּתָא מִן יְמִינָךְ לְוָתָךְ לָא יִקְרְבוּן לְמִנְזָק:

You will invoke the holy name;a thousand will fall at your leftside, and ten thousand at your right; they will not come near you to do harm.

לְחוֹד בְּעַיְנָךְ תְּהֵי מִסְתַּכַּל וְהֵיךְ מִתְגַמְרִין רַשִׁיעֵי תֶחֱמֵי:

Only with your eyes you will watch, and you will see the wickedas they are destroyed.

עֲנֵי שְׁלֹמֹה וְכֵן אֲמַר אֲרוּם אַנְתְּ הוּא יְיָ רוּחֲצָנִי בִּמְדוֹר עִלָאָה שַׁוֵיתָא בֵּית שְׁכִנְתָּךְ:

Solomon answered and said: “For you are my confidence, O LORD; in thehighest dwelling placeyou have placed the house of your presence.”

אֲתִיב מָרֵי עַלְמָא וְכֵן אֲמַר לָא תְאָרַע לָךְ בִּישְׁתָּא וּמַכְתָּשָׁא וּמַזִיקַיָא לָא יִקְרְבוּן בְּמַשְׁכְּנָיִךְ:

The lord of the world responded and thus he said: “No harm shall happen to you; and no plague or demonshall come near to your tents.”

אֲרוּם מַלְאֲכוֹי יְפַקֵד עֲלָךְ לְמִטְרִינָךְ בְּכָל אוֹרְחָתָךְ:

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

עַל תּוּקְפֵיהוֹן יִטְלוּנָךְ דִלְמָא תַתְקֵל בְּיִצְרָא בִישָׁא דִמְתִיל לְאַבְנֵי רִגְלָךְ:

They will lift you up by their strength,lest you stumble on the evil impulse, which is likened tothe stones at your feet.

עַל גּוּר בַּר אַרְוְיָן וּפִתְנָא תִּבְעוֹט תִּרְמוֹס אַרְיָא וְחוּרְמָנָא:

You will trample onthelions’ whelpand the adder; you will tread down the lion and the viper.

He will pray in my presence and I will answer him; I am with him in distress, I will save him and glorifyhim.
