These (eleh) are the word which Moses spoke to all Israel. (Deuteronomy 1:1) Thought is ungraspable, except to the person himself, who knows what he thinks. From thought comes voice, and from voice, it goes to the five articulators of the mouth.¹ 2:3. This is “eleh” (אלה). The aleph is “elaph binah” (“learn understanding”).² 104a) expounds on the letters of the Hebrew alphabet: “aleph, beis” implies elaph(“to learn”), and binah (“understanding”).
