שש עגלות צב. אמרו שכך צריך ארבע לבני מררי ושתים לבני גרשון ולבני קהת אינו צריך כלום כדמפר':
צב. לפי הפשט עגלות גדולות כבידות שהולכים לאט מפני כבידם כמו הצב השורץ שאין דרכו לרוץ וכן כתי' בצבים ובפרדים ובכרכרות בצבים בעגלות גדולות שמושכים הפרדים ובכרכרות עגלות קטנות קלות שמדלגות ומכרכרו' כמו ודוד מכרכר בכל עוז:
נשיא אחד ליום. כדי לחלוק כבוד לנשיאים שיהא לכל אחד יומו ואף פרשיותיהם נכתבו לכל אחד שלא יתקנאו זה בזה שהיה יכול לכתוב פרשה ראשונה ולכתוב כן עשה פלוני וכן פלוני:
הקריב נתנאל. הקריב שני פעמי' האחד לשון הפעיל שהוא גרם לאחרים שיקריבו מכאן דרשו רבותי' שהוא נתן להם עצה שיקריבו:

ובבא משה אל אהל מועד. לפי שנ' וידבר אליו מאהל מועד וכאן אמ' מבין שני הכרובים למדנו לפי הפשט שכשהיה בחוץ נרא' לו שהקול בא מאהל מועד דכתי' התם ולא יכול משה לבא אל אוהל מועד וכשהיה באהל מועד היה נרא' לו שהקול בא מבין שני הכרובים וכן דרך ארץ כשאדם חוץ לבית והקול בא מן הבית אינו מבין מן הבית אבל כשהוא בבית אז מבין מאיזה מקום מן הבית ולפי שדיבר בחנוכת הבית למדנו שהשכינה בבית והקול בא מן הבית:
When Moshe would enter the Tent of Meeting: Since it stated (Leviticus 1:1), "and He spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting," and here it states, "from between the two cherubs," we learned according to the straightforward meaning that when he was outside, it appeared to him that the voice was coming from the Tent of Meeting. As there (Exodus 40:35), it is written, "And Moshe was unable to enter the Tent of Meeting." But when he was inside the Tent of Meeting, it would appear to him that the voice was coming from between the two cherubs. And this is also the way of the world: When a person is outside the house and a voice comes from the house, he does not distinguish from [where in] the house [it is coming]; but when he is in the house, he distinguishes from which place in the house. And since it spoke [here] about the inauguration of the sanctuary, we learned that the Divine Presence was in the house and the voice was coming from the house.
