Moshe went and he addressed these statements to all of Yisroel.

And Moshe went and spoke these words to all Yisra᾽el.

And Moses went and he spoke these words to all of Israel.

He said to them, ‘‘I am 120 years old today, I cannot any longer go forth and return; for Adonoy has said to me, ‘You will not cross this Yardein.’

And he said to them, I am a hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the Lord has said to me, Thou shalt not go over this Yarden.

And he said to them: I am one hundred and twenty years old this day [(On this day I was born, and on this day I shall die)]. I shall no longer be able to go out and to come in, [(the warrant to do so having been taken from him and accorded Joshua)], for the L-rd has said to me: You shall not cross over this Jordan.

Adonoy, your God, He is crossing before you, He will destroy these nations before you and you will inherit them. Yehoshua, he is crossing before you as Adonoy has stated.

The Lord thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt dispossess them: and Yehoshua, he shall go over before thee, as the Lord has said.

The L-rd your G-d — He crosses over before you. He will destroy these nations before you and you will inherit them. Joshua — he crosses over before you, as the L-rd has spoken.

And Adonoy will do to them as He did to Sichon and to Og, kings of the Emorites, and to their land; whom He destroyed.

And the Lord will do to them as he did to Siĥon and to ῾Og, the kings of the Emori, and to their land; whom he destroyed,

And the L-rd shall do to them as He did to Sichon and to Og, the kings of the Emori and to their land, having destroyed them.

Adonoy will defeat them before you, and you will do to them in accord with the mitzvah that I commanded you.

and the Lord shall deliver them up before your face, that you may do to them according to all the commandments which I have commanded you.

And the L-rd will deliver them before you, and you shall do to them according to all of the mitzvah that I have commanded you.

Be courageous and bold, do not fear and do not quake before them; for Adonoy, your God, it is He Who is going with you, He will not enfeeble you nor will He abandon you.’’

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that goes with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Be strong and firm. Do not fear and do not break before them. For the L-rd your G-d — It is He that goes before you; He will not let go of you, and He will not forsake you.

Moshe called Yehoshua and said to him as all of Yisroel watched, ‘‘Be courageous and bold, for you shall enter with this people into the land that Adonoy swore to their forefathers to give them, and you will apportion it to them.

And Moshe called to Yehoshua, and said to him in the sight of all Yisra᾽el, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

And Moses called to Joshua and he said to him before the eyes of all of Israel: Be strong and firm, for you will come with this people [(The elders of the generation shall be with you — all will be according to their judgment and counsel)] to the land that the L-rd swore to their fathers to give to them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.

And Adonoy is the One Who is going ahead of you, He will be with you, will not enfeeble you and will not abandon you; do not fear and do not quake.

And the Lord, he it is that goes before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee: fear not, nor be dismayed.

And the L-rd — It is He who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not let go of you and He will not forsake you. Do not fear and do not break.

Moshe wrote this Torah and he gave it to the kohanim, descendants of Levi, who carry the ark of Adonoy’s covenant; and to all the elders of Yisroel.

And Moshe wrote this Tora, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Yisra᾽el.

And Moses wrote this Torah, and [when he finished writing all of it], he gave it to [his tribe], the Cohanim, the sons of Levi, who carry the ark of the covenant of the L-rd, and to all the elders of Israel.

Moshe commanded them, saying: After seven years have ended, on the holy day of the Sh’mittah year, during the Sukkos festival;

And Moshe commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the time of the year of release, in the feast of booths,

And Moses commanded them, saying: At the end of seven years [in the first year of (the new) shemitah (period), i.e., in the eighth year)], at the time of the year of the shemitah, [(the laws of shemitah still obtaining for the produce of the seventh year harvested in the eighth)], in the festival of Succoth,

When all of Yisroel comes to be seen in the presence of Adonoy, your God, in the place that He chooses, you shall read this Torah facing all of Yisroel for them to hear.

when all Yisra᾽el is come to appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this Tora before all Yisra᾽el in their hearing.

When all of Israel come to appear before the L-rd your G-d in the place that He shall choose, you shall read this Torah before all of Israel, in their ears [(The king would read from the beginning of Deuteronomy on a wooden platform that they set up in the azarah.)]

Assemble the people—the men and the women and the infants, and your convert who is in your towns; in order for them to hear and in order for them to learn to fear Adonoy, your God, and they will make sure to fulfill all the statements of this Torah.

Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of this Tora:

Assemble the people: the men [to learn], the women [to hear], and the little ones, [to confer reward on those who bring them], and the stranger in your gates, so that they hear and so that they learn and fear the L-rd your G-d and observe to do all the words of this Torah.

And their children who did not understand will hear and will learn to fear Adonoy, your God, all the years that you are living on the land that you are crossing the Yardein there to inherit.

and that their children, who have not known anything, may hear, and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live in the land whither you go over the Yarden to possess it.

And their sons who did not know shall hear and learn to fear the L-rd your G-d all of the days that you live upon the land whither you cross the Jordan to inherit it.

Adonoy said to Moshe, ‘‘Look! Your time is approaching to die. Call Yehoshua and present yourselves in Ohel Moed and I shall exhort him.’’ Moshe went with Yehoshua and they presented themselves in Ohel Moed.

And the Lord said to Moshe, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Yehoshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may give him a charge. And Moshe and Yehoshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.

And the L-rd said to Moses: Behold, your days have drawn near to die. Call Joshua and stand in the tent of meeting and I will charge him. And Moses and Joshua went and they stood in the tent of meeting.

Adonoy revealed Himself in the Ohel in a pillar of cloud; the pillar of cloud remained at the entrance of the Ohel.

And the Lord appeared in the Tent in a pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the Tent.

And the L-rd appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the tent.

Adonoy said to Moshe, ‘‘You are about to die, and this people will arise and stray after the gods of the stranger [people] of the land that they are going there among them, and they will forsake Me and break My covenant that I made with them.

And the Lord said to Moshe, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go astray after the gods of the strangers of the land, into which they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

And the L-rd said to Moses: Behold, you shall lie down with your fathers, and this people shall arise and stray after the gods of the nations of the land into whose midst it is coming; and it will forsake Me and break the covenant that I made with it.

And I will wax angry at them on that day and I will forsake them and I shall conceal My face from them and they will be for consuming and many evils and troubles will happen to them; and they will say on that day, ‘‘Look! Because my God is not within me did these evils happen to me.’’

Then my anger will burn against them on that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say on that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?

And My wrath shall burn against them on that day, and I shall forsake them, and I shall hide My face from them [as if I do not see their suffering], and they shall be prey, and many ills and afflictions shall befall them. And it (Israel) shall say on that day: Is it not because my G-d is not in my midst that these ills have befallen me?

And I will surely conceal My face on that day because of all the wickedness that they did, because they turned to other gods.

And I will surely hide my face on that day for all the evils which they shall have perpetrated, in that they have turned to other gods.

And I shall utterly hide My face on that day because of all the evil that it did, because it turned to other gods.

And now write for yourselves this song and teach it to Bnei Yisroel to place it in their mouths; in order that this song will be for Me a witness against Bnei Yisroel.

Now therefore write this poem for yourselves, and teach it the children of Yisra᾽el: put it in their mouths, that this poem may be a witness for me against the children of Yisra᾽el.

And now, write for yourselves this song [32:1-43] and teach it to the children of Israel. Place it in their mouths, so that this song be a witness for Me with the children of Israel.

For I will bring them to the land that I swore to their forefathers, flowing milk and honey, and they will eat, and be full, and wax fat; and they will turn to other gods and serve them and they will infuriate Me and break My covenant.

For when I shall have brought them into the land of which I swore to their fathers, one flowing with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

For I shall bring them to the land that I have sworn to their fathers, flowing milk and honey, and they shall eat and be sated and grow fat, and they shall turn to other gods and serve them, and they shall spurn Me and break My covenant.

Should many evils and troubles happen to them, this song shall serve as testimony before them as witness—for it shall never be forgotten from the lips of their progeny—for I know their impulse that they are gratifying today prior to My bringing them to the land that I swore.

And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles have befallen them, that this poem shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their inclination, and what they do, even now, before I have brought them into the land of which I swore.

And it shall be, when many ills and afflictions befall them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness [that I forewarned them in it (the song) of all that would befall them], for it will not be forgotten from the mouth of their seed [(an assurance to Israel that the Torah will never be entirely forgotten by their seed)]. For I have known its inclination, what it does today, before I bring it to the land that I have sworn.

Moshe wrote this song on that day, and he taught it to Bnei Yisroel.

Moshe therefore wrote this poem the same day, and taught it the children of Yisra᾽el.

And Moses wrote this song on that day, and he taught it to the children of Israel.

He commanded Yehoshua, the son of Nun and said, ‘‘Be courageous and bold, for you will bring Bnei Yisroel to the land that I swore to them, and I will be with you.’’

And he gave Yehoshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Yisra᾽el into the land of which I swore to them: and I will be with thee.

And He charged Joshua the son of Nun, saying: Be strong and firm, for you will bring the children of Israel to the land that I swore to them, and I shall be with you.

When Moshe finished writing the statements of this Torah in a book, till they were complete,

And it came to pass, when Moshe had made an end of writing the words of this Tora in a book, until they were finished,

And it was, when Moses had finished writing the words of this Torah on a scroll until their end,

Moshe commanded the Levites, bearers of the ark of Adonoy’s covenant, saying:

that Moshe commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying,

That Moses commanded the Levites, the bearers of the ark of the covenant of the L-rd, saying:

‘‘Take this book of the Torah and place it on the side of the ark of Adonoy, your God’s covenant; and it will be there as witness against you.

Take this book of the Tora, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

Take the scroll of this Torah and place it at the side of the ark of the covenant of the L-rd your G-d [(according to one view, on a board projecting outside the ark; according to another, alongside the tablets within the ark)], and it shall be there for witness in you.

For I know your rebelliousness your stubborness. Look! even while I live with you today you have been defiers with Adonoy, surely after my death.

For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death?

For I have known your rebellion and your stiff neck. If until the time I have been living with you this day, you have been rebellious against the L-rd, how much more so after my death!

Assemble to me all the judges of your tribes and your enforcers, and I will declare in their hearing these statements, and invoke as witnesses against them heaven and earth,

Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

Assemble unto me all the elders of your tribes and your officers and I will speak in their ears these words, and I will call upon heaven and earth to be witness in them [(In 30:19, he spoke to Israel; now he will speak to heaven and earth.)]

For I know after my death, that you will become depraved and you will veer from the way that I commanded you; and harm will happen to you at the end of time, when you do what is wicked in Adonoy’s eyes to spite Him with your actions.

For I know that after my death you will surely become corrupted, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because you will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

For I know that after my death [i.e., after the death of Joshua, whom Moses considered like himself] you will corrupt yourselves and you will turn from the way that I commanded unto you, and the evil will befall you in the end of days, for you will do the evil in the eyes of the L-rd to anger Him with the deeds of your hands.

Moshe spoke in the hearing of all the assemblage of Yisroel the statements of this song, till they were complete.

And Moshe spoke in the ears of all the congregation of Yisra᾽el, the words of this poem, until they were ended.

And Moses spoke in the ears of the entire assembly of Israel the words of this song until their end:
