I see that the name Shedeur provides evidence for our interpretation, for there is no doubt that the name Shedeur is composed of Shaddai-Or, just as all other names composed of one of His divine names. Similarly, we have names like Ami-Shaddai and Tsuri-Shaddai, and so it is with this name. Gesenius, in his Thesaurus, wrote that Shedeur is like Ashdot; he seeks a meaning that someone would believe in. If the intention of Shaddai was one of the other meanings aside from the concept of sufficiency and enough, which means 'enough' or that there is enough in existence, it would not have been appropriate to combine Shaddai-Or with a tzere vowel, just as it isn't 'ein day' (there is not enough) with a tzere, which clearly indicates sufficiency. From what we find here combined, it is evidence that Shaddai is composed of Sha-Dai, like Sha-Lamah, 'I will be,' etc., 'Sha-ata medaber imi,' etc. Therefore, it is combined with the name Shaddai-Or, meaning one for whom Shaddai is light and does not need any other light, in the manner of 'and light dwells with Him.' The investigation of Hebrew names, their composition, and their origin is a good and broad inquiry, a land where no man has passed until today. May one of the wise among our people come and enlighten many about their nature and beauty, and extract for us precious stones from this quarry that gathers into itself the ideas of our ancestors as they flowed from their hearts when they named their children. There is no doubt that these names contain their customs and beliefs, and perhaps even their faiths.
