Adonoy said to Moshe, “There is one more plague that I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. After that he will send you away from here. When he sends you away, he will actually drive you out from here completely.
And the Lord said to Moshe, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Par῾o, and upon Miżrayim; afterwards he will let you go from here: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out altogether from here.
And the L-rd said to Moses: Yet one more plague shall I bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. After that, he shall send you hence. When he sends (you), [he shall send] all [of you]; he shall drive you hence.
Speak, please, in the ears of the people, and let each man request [borrow] from his friend, and each woman from her friend, articles of silver and articles of gold.”
Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man ask of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
Speak, I pray you, in the ears of the people, that every man ask of his (Egyptian) neighbor and every woman ask of her neighbor vessels of silver and vessels of gold, [so that the righteous one, Abraham, not say "and they shall serve them and they shall afflict them" (Genesis 15:3) He did fulfill, but "and afterwards they shall go out with great wealth" (Ibid. 14) He did not fulfill.]
וַיִּתֵּ֧ן יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶת־חֵ֥ן הָעָ֖ם בְּעֵינֵ֣י מִצְרָ֑יִם גַּ֣ם**׀** הָאִ֣ישׁ מֹשֶׁ֗ה גָּד֤וֹל מְאֹד֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם בְּעֵינֵ֥י עַבְדֵֽי־פַרְעֹ֖ה וּבְעֵינֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃{ס}
Adonoy gave the people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians. Moshe too was very great in the land of Egypt, [both] in the eyes of Pharaoh’s servants and in the eyes of the people.
And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of Miżrayim; moreover the man Moshe was very great in the land of Miżrayim, in the sight of Par῾o’s servants, and in the sight of the people.
And the L-rd put the favor of the people in the eyes of Egypt. The man Moses, too, was very great in the land of Egypt in the eyes of the servants of Pharaoh and in the eyes of the people.
Moshe said, “This is what Adonoy has said, About the time of midnight, I will go out in the midst of Egypt.
And Moshe said, Thus says the Lord, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Miżrayim:
And Moses said [to Pharaoh]: Thus said the L-rd: When the night is divided [i.e., at midnight] I shall go out into the midst of Egypt.
Every first-born in the land of Egypt will die, from the first-born of Pharaoh sitting on his throne, to the first-born of the [Egyptian] slave girl, behind the mill-stones, and every first-born animal.
and all the firstborn in the land of Miżrayim shall die, from the firstborn of Par῾o that sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of cattle.
And every first-born in the land of Egypt will die, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sits on his throne [(and down)] until the first-born of the maidservant behind the mill-stones [(and up. The captive first-born (see 12:29) died so that they not say that their gods "claimed their shame" and brought destruction upon the Egyptians. The sons of the maidservants died, for they, too, worked the Jews and rejoiced in their affliction)] and all the first-born of beasts, [these having been served as objects of idolatry. ("When the Holy One Blessed be He exacts punishment of a nation, He exacts punishment of its gods.")]
There will be a great cry [of anguish] throughout the entire land of Egypt, the likes of which there never was and like there never will be.
And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Miżrayim, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
And there will be a great outcry in the whole land of Egypt, the like of which had never been and the like of which will not be again.
But among all the B’nei Yisrael, a dog will not sharpen its tongue [growl] at man or animal. You will then know that Adonoy distinguishes between Egypt and Yisrael.
But against any of the children of Yisra᾽el not a dog shall move its tongue, neither against man or beast: that you may know that the Lord differentiates between Miżrayim and between Yisra᾽el.
And against all the children of Israel a dog shall not sharpen its tongue — from man until beast — so that you will know that the L-rd distinguished between Egypt and Israel.
וְיָרְד֣וּ כׇל־עֲבָדֶ֩יךָ֩ אֵ֨לֶּה אֵלַ֜י וְהִשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ־לִ֣י לֵאמֹ֗ר צֵ֤א אַתָּה֙ וְכׇל־הָעָ֣ם אֲשֶׁר־בְּרַגְלֶ֔יךָ וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֖ן אֵצֵ֑א וַיֵּצֵ֥א מֵֽעִם־פַּרְעֹ֖ה בׇּחֳרִי־אָֽף׃{ס}
Then all these, your servants, will come down to me, and prostrate themselves saying, ‘Go! You and all the people that follow you. Then I will go out.” He [Moshe] then left Pharaoh in great anger.
And all these thy servants shall come down to me, and bow down themselves to me, saying, Get thee gone, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Par῾o in great anger.
And all these servants of yours will come down and bow down to me, saying: Go out! you and all your followers; and then I will go out. And [after he finished what he had to say] he went out from before Pharaoh in great wrath [over his having said (10:28): "You shall not see my face again!"]
Adonoy said to Moshe, “Pharaoh will not listen to you. Thus I will multiply My wonders in the land of Egypt.”
And the Lord said to Moshe, Par῾o shall not hearken to you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Miżrayim.
And the L-rd said to Moses: Pharaoh will not pay heed to you, so that My wonders be multiplied in the land of Egypt [viz.: the plague of the first-born, the splitting of the Red Sea, and the "shaking out" of the Egyptians therein.]
וּמֹשֶׁ֣ה וְאַהֲרֹ֗ן עָשׂ֛וּ אֶת־כׇּל־הַמֹּפְתִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה לִפְנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֑ה וַיְחַזֵּ֤ק יְהֹוָה֙ אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְלֹֽא־שִׁלַּ֥ח אֶת־בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאַרְצֽוֹ׃{ס}
Moshe and Aharon had done all these wonders before Pharaoh. [However] Adonoy hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he did not send the B’nei Yisrael out of his land.
And Moshe and Aharon did all these wonders before Par῾o: and the Lord hardened Par῾o’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Yisra᾽el go out of his land.
And Moses and Aaron performed all of these wonders before Pharaoh, and the L-rd strengthened Pharaoh's heart and he did not send the children of Israel from his land.
