Adonoy spoke to Moshe saying.

And the Lord spoke to Moshe, saying,

And the L-rd spoke to Moses, saying:

“On the first day of the first month, you should set up the mishkon of the Tent of Meeting.

On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting.

On the first day of the first month, you shall set up the mishkan of the tent of meeting.

Place the ark of Testimony there, and spread the paroches (partition) over the ark.

And thou shalt put in it the ark of the Testimony, and hang the veil before the ark.

And you shall place there the ark of testimony, and you shall screen the ark with the parocheth.

Bring in the table and set it in order. Bring in the menorah and light its lamps.

And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light its lamps.

And you shall bring the table and make its arrangement [the two arrangements of the show bread (see Leviticus 24:5-6)], and you shall bring the menorah and you shall light its lamps.

Place the golden altar for burning incense, before the ark of Testimony. Place the screen at the mishkon’s entrance.

And thou shalt set the altar of gold for incense before the ark of the Testimony, and put the screen of the door to the tabernacle.

And you shall place the golden altar for (smoking) incense before the ark of testimony, and you shall place the entrance partition for the mishkan.

Place the burnt-offering altar in front of the entrance of the mishkon of the Tent of Meeting.

And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting.

And you shall place the burnt-offering altar before the entrance of the mishkan of the tent of meeting.

Place the laver between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water into it.

And thou shalt set the laver between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and shalt put water in it.

And you shall place the kiyyor between the tent of meeting and the altar and you shall put water there.

Put up the enclosure all around, and set up the screen for the enclosure’s entrance.

And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the screen at the court gate,

And you shall set up the court roundabout, and you shall place the screen of the gate of the court.

Take the anointing oil, and anoint the mishkon and everything in it. Sanctify it and all its vessels so that it will become holy.

and thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is in it, and shalt hallow it, and all its vessels: and it shall be holy.

And you shall take the anointing oil and you shall anoint the mishkan and all that is in it. And you shall consecrate it and all of its appurtenances, and it shall be holy.

Anoint the burnt-offering altar and all its vessels. Sanctify the altar so that the altar becomes holy of holies.

And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all its vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy.

And you shall anoint the burnt-offering altar and all of its implements. And you shall consecrate the altar, and the altar shall be holy of holies.

Anoint the laver and its base and sanctify it.

And thou shalt anoint the laver and its pedestal, and sanctify it.

And you shall anoint the kiyyor and its pedestal, and you shall consecrate it.

Bring Aharon and his sons to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and immerse them in a mikveh.

And thou shalt bring Aharon and his sons to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water.

And you shall bring near Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and you shall wash them with water.

Clothe Aharon with the sacred garments. Anoint him and sanctify him so that he may serve as a kohein to Me.

And thou shalt put upon Aharon the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister to me in the priest’s office.

And you shall clothe Aaron in the holy garments, and you shall anoint him, and you shall consecrate him, and he shall minister unto Me.

Bring his sons and clothe them with undershirts.

And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats:

And his sons shall you bring near, and you shall dress them in kutanoth.

Anoint them as you anointed their father, so that they may serve as kohanim to Me. This should be done so that their anointing will make them an eternal kehunah throughout their generations.”

and thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister to me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.

And you shall anoint them as you anointed their father. And they shall minister unto Me. and this will serve for their anointment to be for them an eternal kehunah for their generations.

Moshe did according to all that Adonoy commanded him—so he did.

Thus did Moshe: according to all that the Lord commanded him, so he did.

And Moses did as all that the L-rd had commanded him; thus did he do.

It was in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the mishkon was set up.

And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was erected.

And it was in the first month of the second year on the first of the month that the mishkan was set up.

Moshe set up the mishkon, placed its sockets, put up its boards, put in its bars, and set up its pillars.

And Moshe erected the tabernacle, and fastened its sockets, and set up its boards, and put in its bars, and reared up its pillars.

And Moses erected the mishkan. He placed its sockets and he set its beams, and he placed its bars and he set up its pillars.

He spread the tent over the mishkon and placed the tent’s covering above it, just as Adonoy commanded Moshe.

And he spread the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the Lord commanded Moshe.

And he spread the tent [the goats' hair spread] on the mishkan. And he placed the covering of the tent above it, as the L-rd had commanded Moses.

He took the Testimony and placed it into the ark, put the poles on the ark, and put the cover on top of the ark.

And he took and put the Testimony into the ark, and set the poles on the ark, and put the covering above upon the ark:

And he took and he placed the testimony [the tablets] into the ark. And he put the staves on the ark. And he placed the kaporeth on the ark from above.

He brought the ark into the mishkon and fastened the paroches (partition)-screen so that it covered the ark of Testimony, just as Adonoy commanded Moshe.

and he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the Testimony; as the Lord commanded Moshe.

And he brought the ark to the mishkan, and he placed the parocheth partition and it screened the ark of testimony, as the L-rd had commanded Moses.

He placed the table in the Tent of Meeting on the north side of the mishkon, outside the paroches (partition).

And he put the table in the Tent of Meeting, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, outside the veil.

And he put the table in the tent of meeting on the side of the mishkan north [i.e., on the northern half of the breadth of the sanctuary], outside the parocheth.

He set upon it an arrangement of bread before Adonoy, just as Adonoy commanded Moshe.

And he set the bread in order upon it before the Lord; as the Lord had commanded Moshe.

And he arranged on it a bread arrangement before the L-rd, as the L-rd had commanded Moses.

He placed the Menorah in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the mishkon.

And he put the candlestick in the Tent of Meeting, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.

And he put the menorah in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the side of the mishkan south.

He lit the lamps before Adonoy, just as Adonoy commanded Moshe.

And he lighted the lamps before the Lord; as the Lord commanded Moshe.

And he lit the lamps before the L-rd as the L-rd had commanded Moses.

He placed the golden altar inside the Tent of Meeting, in front of the paroches.

And he put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting before the veil:

And he put the golden altar in the tent of meeting before (i.e., inside) the parocheth.

He burned the incense of spices upon it, just as Adonoy commanded Moshe.

and he burnt sweet incense upon it as the Lord commanded Moshe.

And he smoked upon it spice incense, as the L-rd had commanded Moses [see 30:7-8].

He set up the screen at the mishkon’s entrance.

And he set up the screen at the door of the tabernacle.

And he placed the entrance partition for the mishkan.

He placed the burnt-offering altar at the entrance of the mishkon of the Tent of Meeting. He sacrificed on it a burnt-offering and a meal-offering, just as Adonoy commanded Moshe.

And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meal offering; as the Lord commanded Moshe.

And the burnt-offering altar he placed at the entrance of the mishkan of the tent of meeting. And he offered up upon it the burnt-offering [the continual burnt-offering] and the meal-offering [accompanying the libations of the continual burnt-offering (29:40)], as the L-rd had commanded Moses.

He set the laver between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water into it for washing.

And he set the laver between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water there, for washing.

And he put the kiyyor between the tent of meeting and the altar, and he put there water for washing.

Moshe, Aharon and his sons washed their hands and feet from it,

And Moshe and Aharon and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat:

And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed from it their hands and their feet, [all of them being equal for kehunah on the eighth day of the investiture of the Cohanim (which was the day of the erection of the mishkan)].

when they came to the Tent of Meeting and when they approached the altar they would wash, just as Adonoy commanded Moshe.

when they went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came near to the altar, they washed; as the Lord commanded Moshe.

When they came to the tent of meeting and when they approached the altar they would wash, as the L-rd had commanded Moses.

He set up the enclosure around the mishkon and the altar, and put up the screen at the enclosure’s entrance, and thus Moshe completed the work.

And he erected the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the court gate. So Moshe finished the work.

And he erected the court around the mishkan and the altar, and he placed the screen of the gate of the court. And Moses completed the work.

The cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of Adonoy filled the mishkon.

Then a cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

And the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the L-rd filled the mishkan.

Moshe was unable to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud rested on it, and the glory of Adonoy filled the mishkon.

And Moshe was not able to enter the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud rested on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

And Moses could not come to the tent of meeting, for the cloud rested upon it and the glory of the L-rd filled the mishkan.

When the cloud rose up from over the mishkon, the B’nei Yisrael would set out in all their travels.

And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Yisra᾽el went onward in all their journeys:

And when the cloud rose from the mishkan, the children of Israel would travel on all of their journeys.

If the cloud did not rise, they would not set out until the day that it rose.

but if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.

And if the cloud did not rise, they did not journey until the day of its rising.

For the cloud of Adonoy was upon the mishkon by day, and there was a fire in it by night, before the eyes of the entire Beis Yisrael, in all their travels.

For the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Yisra᾽el, throughout all their journeys.

For the cloud of the L-rd was on the mishkan by day, and a fire was in it at night before the eyes of all the house of Israel in all of their journeyings [i.e., in all the encampments of their journeyings].
