Then a spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of the Lord’s house, which looks eastward: and behold at the door of the gate twenty five men: among whom I saw Ya᾽azanya the son of ῾Azzur and Pelatyahu the son of Benayahu, the princes of the people.

Then he said to me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:

who say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the cauldron, and we are the meat.

Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.

And the spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said to me, Speak; Thus says the Lord; Thus have you said, O house of Yisra᾽el: for I know the things that come into your mind, everyone of them.

You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled the streets of it with the slain.

Therefore thus says the Lord God; Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the meat, and this city is the cauldron: but I will bring you out of the midst of it.

You have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, says the Lord God.

And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

You shall fall by the sword; I will judge you at the border of Yisra᾽el; and you shall know that I am the Lord.

The city shall not be your cauldron, neither shall you be the meat in the midst of it; but I will judge you at the border of Yisra᾽el:

and you shall know that I am the Lord; for you have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the nations that are round about you.

And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatyahu the son of Benaya died. Then I fell down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord God! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Yisra᾽el?

Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Son of man, thy brethren, thy brothers, thy next of kin, and all the house of Yisra᾽el entire are they to whom the inhabitants of Yerushalayim have said, Get you far from the Lord: to us is this land given in possession.

Therefore say, Thus says the Lord God; Although I have cast them far off among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries, and I have been to them a little sanctuary in the countries where they have come,

therefore say, Thus says the Lord God; Yet will I gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Yisra᾽el.

And they shall come there, and they shall take away all the detestable things of it, and all the abominations of it from there.

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;

that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

But as for them whose heart follows after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, says the Lord God.

Then did the keruvim lift up their wings, and the wheels along with them; and the glory of the God of Yisra᾽el was over them above.

And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

Afterwards a spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the spirit of God into Kasdim, to the exiles. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

Then I related to the exiles all the things that the Lord had shown me.
