And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Son of man, take up a lamentation for Par῾o king of Miżrayim, and say to him, Thou didst liken thyself to a young lion among the nations; but thou art rather a crocodile in the seas, and thou dost thrust forward in thy streams, churning the water with thy feet, and fouling their channels.

Thus says the Lord God; I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many peoples, and they will bring thee up in my net.

Then will I throw thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the birds of the sky to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.

And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with thy height.

I will also water with thy blood the land over which thou overflowest as far as the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.

And when I shall extinguish thee, I will cover the heaven, and make dark the stars thereof; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, says the Lord God.

I will also vex the hearts of many peoples, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known.

Yea, I will make many peoples appalled at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

For thus says the Lord God; The sword of the king of Bavel shall come upon thee.

By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pride of Miżrayim, and all its multitude shall be destroyed.

I will destroy also all its beasts from beside many waters; neither shall the foot of man churn them up any more, nor the hoofs of beasts make them muddy.

Then will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, says the Lord God.

When I shall make the land of Miżrayim desolate and waste: the country shall be destitute of that of which it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell there, then shall they know that I am the Lord.

It is a lamentation, and they shall make lament with it: the daughters of the nations shall keen it: they shall keen it over Miżrayim, and over all her multitude, says the Lord God.

And it came to pass in the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Son of man, wail for the multitude of Miżrayim, and cast them down, her together with the daughters of mighty nations, to the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.

Whom dost thou pass in beauty? go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.

They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her down and all her multitudes.

The mighty chiefs from the midst of She᾽ol shall speak of him and his helpers, saying, They are gone down, the uncircumcised lie slain by the sword.

Ashshur is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword:

whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who struck terror into the land of the living.

There is ῾Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, who struck terror into the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.

They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though the terror of them was spread in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that are slain.

There is Meshekh, Tuval, and all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they struck their terror into the land of the living.

And shall they not lie with the fallen mighty of the uncircumcised, who are gone down to She᾽ol with their weapons of war, their swords laid under their heads, and their iniquities having come upon their bones? For the terror of the mighty was in the land of the living.

And thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shalt lie with them that are slain with the sword.

Edom is there, her kings, and all her princes, who for all their might are laid by them that were slain by the sword: they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.

There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Żidonians, who are gone down with the slain; ashamed for the terror caused by their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit.

Par῾o shall see them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, namely Par῾o and all his army slain by the sword, says the Lord God.

For I have struck my terror into the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, Par῾o and all his multitude, says the Lord God.
