And thou, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Yisra᾽el, and say, You mountains of Yisra᾽el hear the word of the Lord:

thus says the Lord God; Because the enemy has said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:

therefore prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord God; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that you might be a possession to the rest of the nations, and you are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are become the gossip of the people:

therefore, you mountains of Yisra᾽el, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus says the Lord God to the mountains, and to the hills, to the water courses, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which have become a prey and a derision to the residue of the nations that are round about;

therefore thus says the Lord God; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, who have appointed my land to themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with disdainful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Yisra᾽el, and say to the mountains, and to the hills, to the water courses, and to the valleys saying, Thus says the Lord God; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because you have suffered the insult of the nations:

therefore thus says the Lord God; I have lifted up my hand, saying, Surely the nations that are about you, they shall bear their own insult.

But you, O mountains of Yisra᾽el, you shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Yisra᾽el; for they will soon be coming.

For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown:

and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Yisra᾽el, all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places rebuilt:

and I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former times, and I will do better to you than at your beginnings: and you shall know that I am the Lord.

And I will cause men to walk upon you, my people Yisra᾽el; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no longer bereave them of children.

Thus says the Lord God: Because they say to you, Thou art a land that devourest men, and hast bereaved thy nations;

therefore thou shalt devour men no longer, nor any more bereave thy nations, says the Lord God.

Neither will I allow the insult of the nations to be heard any more against thee, nor shalt thou bear the reproach of peoples, any longer, nor shalt thou cause thy nations to stumble any more, says the Lord God.

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Son of man, when the house of Yisra᾽el dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a menstruous woman.

So I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols with which they had defiled it:

and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

And when they came to the nations, into which they came, they profaned my holy name, in that men said of them, These are the people of the Lord, and they are gone out of his land.

But I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Yisra᾽el had profaned among the nations, into which they came.

Therefore say to the house of Yisra᾽el, Thus says the Lord God; I do not do this for your sakes, O house of Yisra᾽el, but for my holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations, to which you came.

And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to follow my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them.

And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

And I will save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will summon the corn, and make it abundant, and lay no famine upon you.

And I will make the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field abundant, that you shall receive no longer the reproach of famine among the nations.

Then shall you remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and will loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your disgusting deeds.

Not for your sakes shall I do this, says the Lord God; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Yisra᾽el.

Thus says the Lord God; On the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause the cities to be inhabited, and the wastes shall be rebuilt.

And the desolate land shall be tilled, instead of the desolation that it was in the sight of all that passed by.

And they shall say, This land that was blighted is become like the garden of ῾Eden; and the waste and blighted and ruined cities are fortified, and inhabited.

Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord have rebuilt the ruined places, and have replanted that which was blighted: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.

Thus says the Lord God; moreover, this request I will grant to the house of Yisra᾽el to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

Like the flock of sacrifices, like the flock of Yerushalayim in her appointed times; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
