And Shelomo the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
And Solomon the son of David strengthened himself over his kingdom, and the L rd his G d was with him, and He greatly exalted him.
Then Shelomo spoke to all Yisra᾽el, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Yisra᾽el, the heads of the fathers’ houses.
And Solomon said to all of Israel: to the officers of the thousands and the hundreds and to the judges and to every leader over all of Israel, the heads of the fathers' houses, [(to go with him to Giveon)].
So Shelomo, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Giv῾on; for there was the Tent of Meeting of God, which Moshe the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.
And Solomon and the entire assembly went with him to the high place in Giveon. For there was the tent of meeting of G d that Moses the servant of the L rd had made in the desert.
But the ark of God David had brought up from Qiryat-ye῾arim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Yerushalayim.
But the ark of G d, David had brought up from Kiryath-yearim to [the place that] David had prepared for it, having pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.
Moreover the brazen altar, that Beżal᾽el the son of Uri, the son of Ḥur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the Lord: and Shelomo and the congregation sought to it.
And the copper altar which Betzalel the son of Uri the son of Chur had made, he had placed before the tabernacle of the L rd, and Solomon and the assembly sought it out.
And Shelomo went up there to the brazen altar before the Lord, which was at the Tent of Meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
And Solomon went up there on the copper altar before the L rd in the tent of meeting, and he offered up upon it a thousand burnt-offerings.
In that night did God appear to Shelomo, and said to him, Ask what I shall give thee.
In that night G d appeared to Solomon and said to him: Ask what I shall give you.
And Shelomo said to God, Thou hast shown great steadfast love to David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.
And Solomon said to G d: You did great lovingkindness with David my father and made me king in his place.
Now, O Lord, let thy promise to David my father be fulfilled: for Thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
Now, O L rd G d, let Your word be confirmed with David my father. For You have made me king over a great people, like the dust of the earth [in multitude].
עַתָּ֗ה חׇכְמָ֤ה וּמַדָּע֙ תֶּן־לִ֔י וְאֵ֥צְאָ֛ה לִפְנֵ֥י הָעָם־הַזֶּ֖ה וְאָב֑וֹאָה כִּֽי־מִ֣י יִשְׁפֹּ֔ט אֶת־עַמְּךָ֥ הַזֶּ֖ה הַגָּדֽוֹל׃{ס}
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge Thy people that is so great?
Now, give me wisdom and knowledge, so that I can go out before this people and come in. For who can judge this great people of Yours?
And God said to Shelomo, because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thy enemies, nor even hast thou asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayst judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
And G d said to Solomon: Because this was in your heart and you did not ask for wealth or possessions or honor or the lives of your enemies, and you did not ask either for many days, but you asked for wisdom and knowledge wherewith to judge My people over which I have made you king,
wisdom and knowledge are granted to thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings who have been before thee have had, nor shall any after thee have the like.
wisdom and knowledge is given you; and wealth and possessions and honor I will give you, such as was not possessed by the kings before you and will not be by the kings after you.
וַיָּבֹ֨א שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה לַבָּמָ֤ה אֲשֶׁר־בְּגִבְעוֹן֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם מִלִּפְנֵ֖י אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃{פ}
Then Shelomo came to the high place that was at Giv῾on to Yerushalayim, from before the Tent of Meeting, and reigned over Yisra᾽el.
And Solomon came back from the high place in Giveon to Jerusalem, from before the tent of meeting, and he reigned over Israel.
And Shelomo gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had one thousand four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Yerushalayim.
And Solomon gathered chariots and riders. And he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand riders. And he quartered them in the chariot cities, and [some were] with the king [and] in Jerusalem.
And the king made silver and gold to be in Yerushalayim as common as stones, and cedar trees he made as common as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland for abundance.
And the king rendered silver and gold in Jerusalem as [common] as stones, and he rendered the cedars as [common] as the sycamores in the lowlands for abundance.
And the horses that Shelomo had were exported from Miżrayim; and from Qeve the merchants of the king would collect them, from Qeve, at a set price.
And the source of Solomon's horses was Egypt, and the assembly [(of Solomon's horse traders was there)]. The king's merchants would buy the assembly rights [and export privileges] for a price.
And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Miżrayim a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty: and so they brought horses for all the kings of the Ḥittim, and for the kings of Aram, by their means.
They went up and took a chariot out of Egypt for six hundred [pieces of] silver, each horse [(of its four horses)] costing one hundred and fifty. And, likewise through them [(Solomon's agents)] was the [horse] traffic for all the kings of the Hittites and for the kings of Aram.
And Shelomo determined to build a house for the name of the Lord, and a royal house for himself.
And Solomon resolved to build a house for the name of the L rd and a house for his kingdom.
