In his days, Nevuchadnetzar king of Bavel went up, and Yehoyakim became his vassal for three years, then he turned against him and rebelled.

Adonoy incited against him bands of Kasdim, bands of Aromeans, bands of Moavites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and he incited them against Yehudah to destroy it, according to the word of Adonoy which He had spoken through His servants, the prophets.

The Metsudah Tanach series, Lakewood, N.J

Indeed, it was by the order of Adonoy against Yehudah to remove [them] from His Presence, because of the sins of Menashe, according to all that he had done.

The Metsudah Tanach series, Lakewood, N.J

And also [because of] the innocent blood that he had shed, and he had filled Yerusholayim with innocent blood, and Adonoy did not want to forgive.

The rest of the deeds of Yehoyakim and all that he did are written in the book of the chronicles of Yehudah’s kings.

Yehoyakim lay with his forefathers, and Yehoyachin his son reigned in his place.

וְלֹא־הֹסִ֥יף עוֹד֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם לָצֵ֖את מֵֽאַרְצ֑וֹ כִּֽי־לָקַ֞ח מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֗ל מִנַּ֤חַל מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ עַד־נְהַר־פְּרָ֔ת כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיְתָ֖ה לְמֶ֥לֶךְ מִצְרָֽיִם׃{פ}

The king of Egypt no longer left his land, for the king of Bavel had taken from the River of Egypt until the Euphrates River all [the territory] that belonged to the king of Egypt.

Yehoyachin was eighteen years old when he became king and he reigned three months in Yerusholayim; his mother’s name was Nechushta daughter of Elnoson of Yerusholayim.

And he did what was evil in the eyes of Adonoy like all that his father had done.

At that time, Nevuchadnetzar’s servants went up against Yerusholayim and the city came under siege.

He removed from there all the treasures of the Beis [Hamikdosh] of Adonoy and the treasures of the king’s palace; and he stripped off all the golden decorations that Shlomo king of Yisroel had made in the Temple of Adonoy, as Adonoy had spoken.

He exiled all of Yerusholayim, all the officers, and all the mighty warriors, ten thousand exiles, and all the craftsmen and gatekeepers; no one remained except for the poorest of the people of the land.
