Had he not given them their wealth: This refers to the wealth they gathered at the shore of the Red Sea and not booty they took from the Egyptians in Egypt. God had already promised them wealth from the Egyptians. The extra favor was that they gathered up the wealth of the Egyptians that washed up on the shore after they drowned in the Red Sea.
