Someone asked Rebbe Nachman about the practices which bring a person closer to God. The Rebbe instructed him to study Torah….

“How?” he asked him. “I am unable to study.”

“Everything can be attained through prayer,” the Rebbe answered. “Everything good—Torah, worship, and all the holiness, devotions and good in all the worlds.”

The Rebbe once said: If a dead person were allowed to return to this world to pray, he would certainly pray very beautifully, with all his might.
