[עַל־פִּי תּוֹרָה קצ"ד - מִי שֶׁרוֹצֶה כָּבוֹד הוּא שׁוֹטֶה] מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד, זַכֵּנִי שֶׁאֶהְיֶה בּוֹרֵחַ מִן הַכָּבוֹד בְּתַכְלִית בֶּאֱמֶת. וְתִהְיֶה עִמִּי תָמִיד, וְתִתֶּן לִי חָכְמָה בִּינָה וָדַעַת אֲמִתִּי, וְאֶזְכֶּה לָדַעַת גְּדֻלָּתְךָ וְרוֹמְמוּתְךָ וּמֶמְשַׁלְתֶּךָ אֲשֶׁר מְלֹא כָל הָאָרֶץ כְּבוֹדֶךָ, וּבְכָל דִּבּוּר וְדִבּוּר מְלֻבָּשׁ כְּבוֹד מַלְכוּתְךָ, כִּי הַדִּבּוּר הוּא הֵיכַל הַמֶּלֶךְ,
Honor Belongs to God and to Those Whose Honor God Desires A person should know that God’s honor fills the entire world, and that the glory of God’s sovereignty is clothed in every word, because speech is the palace of the king. He himself should flee honor. Instead, he should give all honor to God and to those whose honor God desires. Let Me Flee from Personal Honor Honored King, help me truly flee honor completely. Be with me always. Give me true wisdom, understanding and knowledge. May I know Your greatness, exaltedness and sovereignty. May I know that Your honor fills the entire world, and that the glory of Your sovereignty is clothed in every word, because speech is the palace of the king.
עַד שֶׁאֶתְבַּטֵּל בְּעֵינֵי עַצְמִי נֶגֶד כְּבוֹדְךָ וְלֹא אֶחְפֹּץ שׁוּם כָּבוֹד כְּלָל, כִּי מִי הוּא פֶּתִי יִרְצֶה כָּבוֹד בְּהֵיכַל הַמֶּלֶךְ, כִּי כָל הַכָּבוֹד הוּא רַק בְּהַדִּבּוּר שֶׁהוּא הֵיכַל הַמֶּלֶךְ. וּמִי הוּא הַשּׁוֹטֶה שֶׁיִרְצֶה לְקַבֵּל כָּבוֹד בִּפְנֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ, אֲשֶׁר כָּל הַכָּבוֹד וְהַגְּדֻלָּה וְהַמֶּמְשָׁלָה שֶׁלּוֹ לְבַד.
May I be as nothing in my own eyes before Your honor. I do not want any honor at all, because who is so foolish as to want honor in the palace of the king? All honor is only in speech, which is the palace of the king. And what fool desires to receive honor in the presence of the king, who alone possesses all honor, greatness and governance?
רַחֵם עָלַי וְתֵן לִי דַעַת אֲמִתִּי לֵידַע כָּל זֶה בֶּאֱמֶת, וְלֹא אֶרְדֹּף אַחַר הַכָּבוֹד כְּלָל, רַק אַדְרַבָּא אֶתְרַחֵק וְאֶבְרַח מִן הַכָּבוֹד בְּתַכְלִית בֶּאֱמֶת, וְאֶמְסֹר כָּל הַכָּבוֹד אֵלֶיךָ וְלִירֵאֶיךָ הָאֲמִתִּיִּים לְבַד, אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה חָפֵץ בִּכְבוֹדָם בֶּאֱמֶת,
Have compassion on me. Give me true knowledge to truly know all of this, so that I will not pursue honor at all. To the contrary, I will distance myself from and flee honor completely, and give all honor to You and to those whose honor You desire, those who truly fear You alone.
וִיקֻיַּם מִקְרָא שֶׁכָּתוּב, שְׂאוּ שְׁעָרִים רָאשֵׁיכֶם וְהִנָּשְׂאוּ פִּתְחֵי עוֹלָם וְיָבֹא מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד, מִי זֶה מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד יְהֹוָה עִזּוּז וְגִבּוּר יְהֹוָה גִּבּוֹר מִלְחָמָה. שְׂאוּ שְׁעָרִים רָאשֵׁיכֶם וּשְׂאוּ פִּתְחֵי עוֹלָם וְיָבֹא מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד. מִי הוּא זֶה מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד יְהֹוָה צְבָאוֹת הוּא מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד סֶלָה.
May the verse be realized, “Gates, lift up your heads; eternal portals, be elevated, and may the King of glory enter. Who is this King of glory? It is HaShem, strong and mighty; HaShem, mighty in war. Gates, lift up your heads; rise, eternal portals, and may the King of glory enter. Who is this King of glory? The God of hosts, He is the King of glory, selah.”
בָּרוּךְ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עֹשֵׂה נִפְלָאוֹת לְבַדּוֹ, וּבָרוּךְ שֵׁם כְּבוֹדוֹ לְעוֹלָם וְיִמָּלֵא כְבוֹדוֹ אֶת כָּל הָאָרֶץ אָמֵן וְאָמֵן:
“Blessed is HaShem, God, God of Israel, Who does wonders alone. And blessed is the Name of His glory forever, and may His glory fill the entire earth. Amen and amen.”
