ויש הבדל בין עת ובין יום. שמלת 'עת' נאמר על כל חלק מחלקי הזמן, בין על עתי השנה בין על הזמן הכולל. ומלת 'יום' מציין היום לבד. (אחרי סימן ו. ועיין אמור ס' קסו)

And there is a difference between עת (time) and יום (day), in that the word עת is said about any portion of time, whether they are times of the year or time overall, while the word יום indicates only a day.
