יש הבדל בין לשון 'שגיאה' (מנחי ל"ה), ובין לשון 'הפלאה', ובין לשון 'העלמה'.
There is a difference between the language שגיאה (error) and the language הפלאה (wonder), and the language העלמה (hidden):
שבעת ידרוש ויחקור לדעת את הדבר ואינו יכול לדעתו ישמש בלשון הפלאה
In a time of one seeking and investigating to know something but he is unable to know it, it will use the language הפלאה.
ובעת שעיין בדבר ועלה בעיונו משפט כוזב הפך האמת ישמש בלשון שגיאה
And in a time of one studying a matter and a false statement comes up in his perusal opposite of the truth, it will use the language שגיאה.
ועל ההעלמה בכלל ישמש בלשון העלמה, שהעלמה כוללת כל שאינו יודע איזה דבר, יהיה מאיזה סבה שיהיה. (ויקרא סימן רמג)
And on the hidden, in general it will use the language העלמה, that העלמה includes all that he does not know about a certain matter, for whatever reason.
