ופעל שרף כולל כל המתיך את הדבר וממיקו. כמו "משרפות מים" "משרפות סיד". וכן שריפת גוף המת על ידי בשמים. ועל כן אמר "ישרף באש" (ויקרא ס' רלח).

And the verb שרף (burn) includes all melting of matter and grinding. Like משרפות מים (burning water) or משרפות סיד (burning lime). And moreover, the burning of a body that dies through the hand of Heaven. And thus, it says ישרף באש (burn with fire)⁶⁶⁷.
