יש הבדל בין פה ובין שפה. שהשפה היא חצונית נגד הפה. ומציין במלת "פה" דברי חכמה, וב"שפה" מציין דברי דעת (שמיני סימן כז)
There is a difference between פה (mouth) and שפה (lip): שפה is the exterior of the mouth. And the word פה indicates words of חכמה (wisdom), while שפה indicates words of דעת (knowledge).
The difference betweenחכמהandדעתaccording to Rashi is thatחכמהis what one hears from others and learns, whileדעתis Divine inspiration. Also, Rashi definesתבונה*(understanding) as comprehension of a matter with one’s intellect based on what he has already learned⁶⁹⁷.*
