אמרו לחכם. ספר לנו מהו הבורא? אמר הדבור במה שלא יושג אולת יחשב. והמחלוקת במה שלא תגיעהו המחשבה. חטא הוא:

ואמר שחכם נכנס על אנשים שהיו חולקים בדברים. אמר להם לא תשלם לכם העצה. אמרו לו ולמה? אמר להם שהעצה היא ההסכמה:

  1. He used to say, A wise man chancing to enter an assembly of disputants, addressed them as follows: Your argument will never lead to a satisfactory result. On being asked, Wherefore? he replied, A successful result would imply unanimity of opinion.
