In thee, O Lord, do I take refuge: let me never be put to confusion.
In You, O L rd, have I trusted — let me not be shamed forever!
Deliver me in Thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline Thy ear to me, and save me.
In Your righteousness rescue me and release me. Incline Your ear to me and save me.
Be Thou my strong habitation, to which I may continually resort; which Thou hast appointed to save me; for Thou art my rock and my fortress.
Be to me a rock of shelter [in whose covert] to come always. You have [ever] commanded [(agents)] to help me; for You are my rock and my fortress.
Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked man, out of the hand of the unrighteous and violent man.
O G d, rescue me from the hand of the wicked one, from the hand of the wrongdoer and the despoiler.
For Thou art my hope, O Lord God: Thou art my trust from my youth.
For You are my hope, O L rd, G d; my shelter from my youth.
By Thee have I been sustained from the womb: Thou art he who took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise is continually of Thee.
You were my stay from the womb. From my mother's belly did You take me forth. You have ever been my praise.
I am as a marvel to many; but Thou art my strong refuge.
I have been a sign [(a symbol and portent of affliction)] for the multitude, but You are the shelter of my strength [(and I have borne all that has come upon me)].
Let my mouth be filled with Thy praise and with Thy glory all the day.
My mouth shall be filled with Your praise; with Your glory all the day.
Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails me.
Do not cast me away now that I have aged [in sin]; with the waning of my strength, do not forsake me.
For my enemies speak against me; and they who watch for my soul take counsel together,
For my foes have spoken against me, and those who watch my soul [(to ensnare it)] have taken counsel together,
saying, God has forsaken him: pursue and catch him; for there is none to deliver him.
saying: The L rd has abandoned him. Pursue and seize him, for there is none to rescue him.
O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste to help me.
O G d, do not go far from me. My G d, hasten to my help.
Let them be confounded and consumed who are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour who seek my hurt.
Let the foes of my soul be shamed and cut off. Let those who seek my ill be enveloped in shame and abashment.
But as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise Thee yet more and more.
And I shall always hope [in You], and [(when You help me)] I shall add to all of Your praises.
My mouth shall rehearse Thy righteousness and Thy salvation all the day; for I cannot count them.
My mouth shall speak Your righteousness, Your salvation all of the day, for I do not know a count [(to the salvations You have wrought for me)].
I will come to celebrate the mighty acts of the Lord God: I will make mention of Thy righteousness, Thine alone.
I come [to praise] the mighty acts of the L rd G d; I mention Your help alone [(for there is no other)].
O God, Thou hast taught me from my youth: and I still declare Thy wondrous deeds.
O G d, You have taught me [(by what has passed over me)] from my youth, and until this day I relate Your wonders.
Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have related Thy strength to this generation, and Thy power to everyone that is to come.
And also in old age [(sixty)] and hoary old age [(seventy)] do not forsake me, O G d, so that I can speak of Your [mighty] arm to [that] generation, of Your strength to all those who come [to me],
Thy righteousness also, O God, reaches the high heavens, who hast done great things.
of Your righteousness, O G d, which reaches to the heights, of the great things that You have done [with me]. O G d, who is like You!
O God, who is like Thee! Thou who hast shown me many and grievous troubles, restore me to life again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
[You,] who have shown me many troubles and ills, will turn back and revive me; and from the depths of the earth You will turn back and raise me.
Increase my greatness, and turn to comfort me.
Increase my greatness and surround me with consolation.
I too will praise Thee with the harp, speaking of Thy truth, O my God: to Thee will I sing with the lyre, O Thou Holy One of Yisra᾽el.
I, likewise, shall praise Your truth with the harp, my G d. I shall play to You with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to Thee; and my soul, which Thou hast redeemed.
My lips will sing [praise] when I play to You [with the lyre], and the soul which You have redeemed.
גַּם־לְשׁוֹנִ֗י כׇּל־הַ֭יּוֹם תֶּהְגֶּ֣ה צִדְקָתֶ֑ךָ כִּי־בֹ֥שׁוּ כִי־חָ֝פְר֗וּ מְבַקְשֵׁ֥י רָעָתִֽי׃{פ}
My tongue also shall tell of Thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought to shame, who seek my hurt.
My tongue, too, all the day, shall speak Your righteousness, for the seekers of my ill have been shamed and abashed.
