כשבא אדם לעשות חלונות לביתו לא יעשם כנגד התועבות שכשיפתח נראה כמשתחוה ועוד שתדיר פונה כנגד ע"ז וכתיב (ויקרא יט ד) אל תפנו אל האלילים. ולבית הכנסת לא יהיה לו חלון פתוח כנגד ע"ז ולא ישים על חלון ספרים כנגד ע"ז:

When one comes to make windows for his house, he should not make them across from the abominations. Since when he opens [them], he appears as if he is bowing. Moreover, it is since he is always turning towards the idolatry, and it is written (Leviticus 19:4), "Do not turn to the idols." And a synagogue should not have a window that is open across from the idolatry, nor should [holy] books be placed in the window across from the idolatry.
