אמר החכם מי שזורע את השנאה יקצור את החרטה אחרית קטטה חרטה המתן מעט ולא תתחרט הלצנות מעביר המורא והיא שנייה לעבירה וכל המתלוצץ נופל בגיהנם ואינו זוכה להקביל פני שכינה כמו שדרשו רז"ל מן המקראות במה יתנקם אדם משונאו יוסיף מעלה יתירה בעצמו. המתקן בינו לבין הבורא יתקן הבורא בינו לבין בני אדם:
The wise man said,¹ ed. Phillipawski, p. 32. “He who sows animosity will reap regret.” The end of argument is regret, wait a bit and you will have no need to regret.², p. 6. Scoffing dispels reverence.³, p. 33. It is second to transgression.⁴ As our teachers of blessed memory expounded from Scriptures,⁵ “All who scoff fall into Gehenna ⁶ and do not merit to receive Divine Glory.” How shall a person take revenge of his enemy? Let him add new virtues to himself.⁷ He who sets himself aright with the Creator, the Creator will set things right between him and others.⁸
