Depression is felt in the heart. This is because the heart—which designs everything one does, whether good or otherwise—feels its own wrongdoing.
A person must avoid depression so as not to be given reason to mourn.
Grief and depression lead to conflict, whereas joy brings peace to the world.
When a person’s happiness is ruined, he becomes sick.
Compassion is a segulah for eliminating depression.
Taking vows and pledging charity bring happiness.
