א. מִי שֶׁאֵין מַכְנִיס אוֹרְחִים, בָּזֶה מַחֲזִיק יְדֵי מְרֵעִים, שֶׁלּא יַחְזְרוּ בִּתְשׁוּבָה.
An inhospitable person strengthens the hand of evildoers so that they do not return to God in repentance.
ב. עִיר שֶׁאֵין בָּהּ הַכְנָסַת אוֹרְחִים בָּאִים לִידֵי גִּלּוּי עֲרָיוֹת, וְעַל־יְדֵי גִּלּוּי עֲרָיוֹת בָּא עֲלֵיהֶם הֲרִיגָה.
[The inhabitants of] a city in which hospitality is not practiced will turn to immoral behavior, and this in turn will bring murder into their midst.
ג. הַכְנָסַת אוֹרְחִים מְזַכָּה אֶת הָאִשָּׁה לְבָנִים.
Hospitality brings a woman to be blessed with children.
ד. הַכְנָסַת אוֹרְחִים כְּהַכְנָסַת שַׁבָּת.
Receiving guests is like receiving Shabbat.
ה. הַמְאָרֵחַ תַּלְמִיד־חָכָם בְּתוֹךְ בֵּיתוֹ – מַעֲלֶה עָלָיו הַכָּתוּב כְּאִלּוּ הִקְרִיב תְּמִידִין.
A person who welcomes a Torah scholar into his home is considered as having offered the daily-sacrifice.
ו. גְּדוֹלָה הַכְנָסַת אוֹרְחִים מֵהַשְׁכָּמַת בֵּית־הַמִּדְרָשׁ וְהַקְבָּלַת פְּנֵי שְׁכִינָה.
Hospitality is even greater than arriving early at the house of Torah study and receiving the Divine Presence.
ז. כֵּיוָן דְּלָא שְׁכִיחֵי רַבָּנָן גַּבַּיְהוּ כַּכּוּתִיִּים דָּמֵי.
Jews who have no rabbis in their midst are like Samaritans.
