א. יוֹם שֶׁהָאָדָם עוֹשֶׂה תְּשׁוּבָה הוּא לְמַעְלָה מֵהַזְּמַן וּמַעֲלֶה כָּל הַיָּמִים לְמַעְלָה מֵהַזְּמַן, וְכֵן יוֹם הַכִּפּוּרִים הוּא לְמַעְלָה מֵהַזְּמַן.

Like Yom Kippur, the day a person repents is beyond time and elevates all his days beyond time.

ז. עַל יְדֵי מֻפְלְגֵי וַחֲרִיפֵי הַדּוֹר מְאִירִין אֶת הַיִּרְאָה, וְעַל יְדֵי הַיִּרְאָה מִתְנוֹצֵץ זְכוּת אָבוֹת, וְעַל יְדֵי הִתְנוֹצְצוּת הָאָבוֹת נִתְעוֹרֵר תְּשׁוּבָה בָּעוֹלָם.

The outstanding and sharp minds of the generation cause the fear of Heaven to shine. This fear sparks the merit of ancestors, which in turn awakens the world to return to God.

ח. הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא עוֹשֶׂה שְׁבִילִין בַּיָּם, כְּדֵי לִכְבּשׁ עֲווֹנוֹתֵינוּ וּלְהוֹצִיא צִדְקוֹתֵינוּ.

God forms “paths in the sea” in order to suppress our sins and bring forth our righteous deeds.

When the Tzaddik becomes wealthy, the wicked return to God in repentance.
