That He prohibited us from eating consecrated meat that has become impure. And that is His, may He be exalted, saying, "Meat that touches anything impure [shall not be eaten]" (Leviticus 7:19). And one who transgressed and ate [it] is lashed. And in the second [chapter] of the Gemara Pesachim (Pesachim 24b), they said, "Impurity of the body [involves] excision; impurity of the meat [only involves] a negative commandment."
