(עו סע"א) אשוני.—פי' רש"י "קשין". ומזה "שן" שהוא קשה, וכן "ישן", שתבואה חדשה רכה וישנה קשה. וכן "שינה" שבשעה שהאדם שוכב וישן נראה כקשה. וכן "קש", שהשבולת רכה והקש קשה. וכן "קש" היא זקנה (חגיגה יג א), כי לעת זקנה מתקשה ומתיבש בשר האדם.
