וַיְהִי עֶֽרֶב וַיְהִי בֹֽקֶר:
And evening came, then morning came,
יוֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁי
the sixth day.
וַיְכֻלּוּ הַשָּׁמַֽיִם וְהָאָֽרֶץ
And the heavens and the earth were completed
וְכָל־צְבָאָם:
and [so were] all their hosts.
וַיְכַל אֱלֹהִים בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁ֒בִיעִי
And God completed, by the seventh day,
מְלַאכְתּוֹ אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה.
His work which He had done;
וַיִּשְׁבֹּת בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁ֒בִיעִי
and He abstained on the seventh day
מִכָּל־מְלַאכְתּוֹ אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה:
from all His work which He had done.
וַיְבָֽרֶךְ אֱלֹהִים אֶת־יוֹם הַשְּׁ֒בִיעִי
And God blessed the seventh day
וַיְקַדֵּשׁ אֹתוֹ.
and sanctified it,
כִּי בוֹ שָׁבַת
for on it He abstained
מִכָּל מְלַאכְתּוֹ
from all His work
אֲשֶׁר־בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים לַעֲשׂוֹת:
which God had created to do.
סַבְרִי מָרָנָן וְרַבּוֹתַי:
Attention! Our masters and our teachers
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה
Blessed are You, Adonoy,
אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם
our God, King of the Universe,
בּוֹרֵא פְּרִי הַגָּֽפֶן:
Creator of the fruit of the vine.

With your permission!
מָרָנָן וְרַבּוֹתַי:
Our masters and our teachers
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה
Blessed are You, Adonoy,

our God, King of the Universe,
הַמּֽוֹצִיא לֶֽחֶם מִן הָאָֽרֶץ:
Who takes bread out from the earth.

אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶֽלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם
our God, King of the Universe
אֲשֶׁר בָּֽחַר בָּֽנוּ מִכָּל־עָם
Who chose us from among all peoples,
וְרוֹמְ֒מָֽנוּ מִכָּל לָשׁוֹן,
and exalted us above all (tongues) languages,
וְקִדְּ֒שָֽׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו.
and sanctified us with His commandments.
וַתִּתֶּן לָֽנוּ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ
And [You] gave us Adonoy, our God,
בְּאַהֲבָה.

מוֹעֲדִים לְשִׂמְחָה.

חַגִּים וּזְמַנִּים לְשָׂשׂוֹן.

אֶת יוֹם

הַשַּׁבָּת הַזֶּה וְאֶת יוֹם

On Pesach
חַג הַמַּצּוֹת הַזֶּה.

זְמַן חֵרוּתֵֽנוּ
the season of our Freedom,

חַג הַשָּׁבוּעוֹת הַזֶּה.
the Festival of Shavuos,
זְמַן מַתַּן תּוֹרָתֵֽנוּ
the season of the giving of our Torah,

and brought us to this season.

הַמַּבְדִּיל
Who has made a distinction
בֵּין קֹֽדֶשׁ לְחוֹל
between the sacred and the unhallowed,
בֵּין אוֹר לְחֽשֶׁךְ
between light and darkness,
בֵּין יִשְׂרָאֵל לָעַמִּים.
between Israel and the peoples,
בֵּין יוֹם הַשְּׁ֒בִיעִי
between the seventh day
לְשֵֽׁשֶׁת יְמֵי הַמַּעֲשֶׂה.
and the six work days.
בֵּין קְדֻשַּׁת שַׁבָּת
Between the sanctity of Shabbos
לִקְדֻשַּׁת יוֹם טוֹב
and the sanctity of Yom Tov
הִבְדַּֽלְתָּ.
You have distinguished,
וְאֶת יוֹם הַשְּׁ֒בִיעִי
and the seventh day
מִשֵּֽׁשֶׁת יְמֵי הַמַּעֲשֶׂה קִדַּֽשְׁתָּ
[from] the six work days You have sanctified.
הִבְדַּֽלְתָּ וְקִדַּֽשְׁתָּ
You have distinguished and sanctified
אֶת עַמְּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּקְדֻשָּׁתֶֽךָ:
Your people Israel with Your holiness.
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה
Blessed are You, Adonoy
הַמַּבְדִּיל בֵּין קֹֽדֶשׁ לְקֹֽדֶשׁ:
Who distinguished between sacred and sacred.
