With His knowledge,

speak of puzzling things.

Amidst this people, with this [prayer for dew]

with dew to make [them] joyful.

Dew—

the valley and its herbage to make joyful;

glad in His protective shade

to be made joyful.

The symbol of our rejuvenation—dew—

to protect [our] offspring.

Blessed are You, Adonoy,

Shield of Abraham.

You are mighty forever, my Master;

You are the Resurrector of the dead,

the Powerful One, to deliver [us].

The depths of

the footstool, [the earth]¹

yearn for His dewdrop,

and all the grasslands yearn for it.

Dew—The mention of it

increases [our praise of] His might;

[therefore,] it was etched

into the prayer of Musaf.

Dew—to revive² [those

But since their souls departed at the first word how could they receive the second word? He [God] brought down the dew with which He will resurrect the dead, and revived them.’”

who rest in] the clefts of rocks.³

footnotes: ³ It was the custom to bury the dead in graves hewn out of rocks or in caves. Thus “Those who rest in the clefts of rocks” refers to the dead, who will be revived with dew.

Our God and God of our fathers!

Dew—grant it to favor Your land.

Designate us for blessing in Your joy—

with abundant grain and wine—

by Your bounty.

Re-establish [Jerusalem] the city of Your desire

—through dew!⁴

Dew—decree it for a year that is good,

and crowned [with]

the fruit of the land, proud and glorious.

The city [Jerusalem] left like a booth,

turn it, by Your hand, into a crown

—through dew.

Dew—let it fall upon the blessed land.

From heaven's best

satiate us with blessing,

to illuminate from out of the darkness⁵

and raise our voices—

through dew!

Through dew, fill our silos with plenty.

If now You would rejuvenate our days.

Beloved One, as befits You,

[re]affirm our name,

make us a well-watered [fruitful] garden—

through dew!

Through dew bless [our] food,

in our bounty let there be no scarcity.

To the people You had led like sheep,

please, fulfill her desire—

through dew!

are Causer of the wind to blow,

and the dew to fall—
