Enter, esteemed holy guests,

come in, esteemed holy Patriarchs,

to sit in the shade

of sublime faithfulness,

in the shade of the Holy One, blessed is He.

Enter Abraham, and with him

Isaac, Jacob, Moses,

Aaron, Joseph and David.

Behold, I am prepared and ready

to perform the mitzvah [to sit in the] sukkah,

as I was commanded by the Creator,

blessed is His Name:

“In sukkos you shall dwell seven days;

every born Israelite

shall dwell in sukkos,

in order that your generations may know

that in sukkos,

I caused the Children of Israel to dwell

when I took them out of the land of Egypt.”

Be seated, be seated, esteemed guests,

be seated, be seated, holy guests,

be seated, be seated,

guests of faithfulness,

[be seated] in the shade

of the Holy One, blessed is He.

Worthy is our portion,

and worthy is the portion of Israel,

as it is written:

“For Adonoy's portion is His people;

Jacob, the lot of His inheritance.”

For the sake of the unity

of the Holy One, blessed is He,

and His Presence,

to unify the Name Yud-Kay with Vov-Kay

in complete unity

through Him Who is Most Hidden,

in the name of all Israel.

May the pleasantness of my Master, our God,

be upon us,

and the work of our hands establish for us;

and the work of our hands may He establish.

May it be Your will,

Adonoy, our God, and the God of our fathers,

to cause Your Presence to dwell among us;

and spread over us the shelter of Your peace

in the merit of the mitzvah of sukkah

that we are performing, to unify the Name of

the Holy One, blessed is He and His Presence,

with reverence and love, to unify the Name

Yud-Kay with Vov-Kay in complete unity,

in the name of all Israel;

and to surround us

with the splendor of Your honor,

holy and pure,

spread over their [our] heads from above

as an eagle arousing its nestlings;

and from there [may there be,]

bountiful outpourings of life for Your servant

(son of),

Your handmaid.

And in the merit of my leaving my house, to go out [into the sukkah],

and the path of Your commandments,

I will eagerly follow,

may this be considered for me

as though I have wandered far off [in exile].

Cleanse me thoroughly from my iniquity,

and from my sin, purify me.

From the exalted guests,

the guests of faithfulness,

may Your ears hear

bountiful blessings.

To the hungry and thirsty,

give them their food and their water

in a reliable manner.

Grant me the privilege

to dwell and take refuge

in the sheltering shadow of Your wings—

at the time I leave this world—

to take refuge from the stream [of fire]

and from the rain [of fiery coals]

when You rain snare-traps upon the wicked.

May it be considered—

the mitzvah of sukkah that I perform—

as though I had fulfilled it

in all its particulars, exactness, specifications,

and all the mitzvos dependent on it.

May it be for our good when You seal [the judgements of Rosh Hashanah —Yom Kippur,]

and may we be privileged

to dwell many days upon the land,

the Holy Land,

in Your service and in Your reverence.

Blessed is Adonoy forever, amein and amein.

I invite to my meal

the exalted guests:

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob,

this mitzvah of sitting in the sukkah

as though I had fulfilled it

in all of its particulars and exactness,

and the six hundred thirteen mitzvos

dependent on it;

as though I had in mind

all the intended purposes

that were intended therein

by the Men of the Great Assembly.
