(דברים א ו) ה׳ אֱלֹהֵינוּ דִּבֶּר אֵלֵינוּ בְּחֹרֵב לֵאמֹר, אָמַר לָהֶם: לֹא מֵעַצְמִי אֲנִי אוֹמֵר לָכֶם, אֶלָּא מִפִּי הַקֹּדֶשׁ אֲנִי אוֹמֵר לָכֶם.
(Devarim 1:6) "The L-rd our G-d spoke to us in Chorev to say": He said to them: It is not of myself that I am telling you, but from the mouth of the Holy One Blessed be He.
רַב לָכֶם שֶׁבֶת בָּהָר הַזֶּה, אָמַר לָהֶם: שָׂכָר הוּא לָכֶם, יְשִׁיבַתְכֶם בָּהָר הַזֶּה: עֲשִׂיתֶם לָכֶם אֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן, עֲשִׂיתֶם לָכֶם אֶת הַשֻּׁלְחָן, עֲשִׂיתֶם לָכֶם אֶת הַמְּנוֹרָה. דָּבָר אַחֵר: הֲנָיָה הִיא לָכֶם יְשִׁיבַתְכֶם בָּהָר הַזֶּה: קִבַּלְתֶּם עֲלֵיכֶם אֶת הַתּוֹרָה, מִנִּיתֶם עֲלֵיכֶם שִׁבְעִים זְקֵנִים, מִנִּיתֶם עֲלֵיכֶם שָׂרֵי אֲלָפִים וְשָׂרֵי מֵאוֹת וְשָׂרֵי חֲמִשִּׁים וְשָׂרֵי עֲשָׂרוֹת. הָא הֲנָיָה גְדוֹלָה הִיא לָכֶם יְשִׁיבַתְכֶם בָּהָר הַזֶּה!
"Much to you dwelling in this mountain": Much reward has accrued to you by dwelling in this mountain: Upon it you accepted the Torah upon yourselves, I appointed for you seventy elders, officers of thousands, officers of hundreds, officers of fifties, and officers of tens, I made for you the mishkan and its vessels — You benefited greatly by your dwelling in this mountain!
דָּבָר אַחֵר: רַע הוּא לָכֶם יְשִׁיבַתְכֶם בָּהָר הַזֶּה!
Alternately - dwelling at this mountain is bad for you.
(דברים א ז) פְּנוּ וּסְעוּ לָכֶם וּבֹאוּ, רַע הוּא הַבַּטָּלָה.
Turn, pick yourselves up and come - idleness is bad [as well]. End of section.
