258. “And yet, etc.” And yet they do not rule until there are lights from the secret of the light of the candle. They are all ‎called “the lights of fire,” since they all come from the secret of the pillar of fire and from the foundation ‎of the fire, and they rule over the lower world. All of this occurs when a person lights the candle before Israel ‎complete the Kedusha De-Sidra.

Explanation: The Malkhut is called “pillar of fire” (as stated in section #209#, above), and these powers in the ‎light of the candle are judgments (as explained in section #252#, sixth paragraph; see there). Accordingly, they do not have the power to activate the [power of] judgments ‎before the candle is lit. ‎
