ס) ונפק מתמן מזדעזע וכו': ויצא המשיח משם כשהוא מזדעזע, ועיניו זולגות דמעות. נזדעזע ר' חייא, ובכה, ואמר, אשרי חלקם של הצדיקים בעולם ההוא, ואשרי חלקו של בן יוחאי שזכה לכך. עליו כתוב, להנחיל אוהבי יש ואוצרותיהם אמלא.
60. “And he departed from there shocked etc.” And the Messiah departed from there in a shocked state**, with tears flowing from his eyes. Rabbi Ḥiyya was shaken and wept. He said: “Happy is the portion of the righteous in that world, and happy is** [Rabbi Shimon] Bar Yoḥai that he merited this. With regard to him it is stated: “That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance and that I may fill their treasuries” (Proverbs 8:21).
פירוש, כי המשיח נפק ממתיבתא דר"ש וזלגין עינוי דמעין מרוב הגעגועים לגאולה השלמה. ומהאי טעמא אזדעזע גם רבי חייא.
Explanation: The Messiah left Rabbi Shimon’s academy “with tears flowing down his eyes,” out of his great longing for the complete redemption. For this reason, “Rabbi Ḥiyya was shaken” as well.
