And Korach took counsel, and made division.

וּבְאַשׁ לְמשֶׁה לַחֲדָא וַאֲמַר קֳדָם יְיָ לָא תִסְתַּכֵּל לְדוֹרוֹן דִידְהוֹן לָא חֲמָרָא דְחַד מִנְהוֹן נְסִיבִית וְלָא אַבְאָשִׁית לְחַד מִנְהוֹן:

And it was very grievous to Mosheh, and he said before the Lord: Regard not the portion of their hands; for not an ass have I taken from one of them, nor to one of them done wrong.

וְאִתְרְכִינוּ עַל אַפֵּיהוֹן וַאֲמָרוּ אֱלָהָא דְשַׁלִיט בְּנִשְׁמַת כָּל בִּישְרָא חַד גַבְרָא חָטֵי וְעַל כָּל עַמָא הֲוָה רְגוֹז:

For not with my own heart have I devised them.

מִמוֹתָא דְמַיְיתִין בָּהּ בְּנֵי אֱנָשָׁא יְמוּתוּן אִלֵין וּסְכָמוּת דְכָל אֱנָשָׁא יִסְתְּכַם עֲלֵיהוֹן לָא יְיָ שְׁלַח יָתִי:

If these die by the death with which the sons of men die, and the account of all men be accounted upon them, the Lord hath not sent me.
