וַהֲוָה בָּתַר כֵּן וּמְחָא דָוִד יַת פְּלִשְׁתָּאֵי וְתַבְּרִינוּן וּנְסִיב דָוִד יַת תִּקוּן אַמְתָא מִידָא דִפְלִשְׁתָּאֵי:

After this David struck down the Philistines and shattered them. David took the arrangement of the cubit out of the hand of the Philistines.

וּמְחָא יַת מוֹאֲבָאֵי וּמְשַׁח לְהוֹן בְּעַדְבָא רָמֵי יַתְהוֹן לְאַרְעָא וּמְשַׁח תְּרֵין חַבְלִין לְמִקְטַל וּמְלֵי חַבְלָא לַאֲחָאָה וַהֲווֹ מוֹאָבָא לְדָוִד לְעַבְדִין נַטְלֵי פְרָס:

And he struck down the Moabites, and measured them with the lot: he threw them to the ground and measured two lots to kill and filled one lot to be spared. And the Moabites were servants to David, bringing tribute.

וּמְחָא דָוִד יַת הַדַדְעֶזֶר בַּר רְחוֹב מַלְכָּא דְצוֹבָא כַּד אֲזַל לְאַשְׁנָאָה תְּחוּמֵיהּ בִּנְהַר פְּרָת:

And David struck down Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to change his border at the river Euphrates.

וַאֲסַר דָוִד מִנֵיהּ אֲלַף וּשְׁבַע מְאָה פְּרָשִׁין וְעַשְׂרִין אַלְפִין גְבַר רַגְלִי וַעֲקַד דָוִד יַת כָּל רְתִיכַיָא וְאַשְׁאַר מִנְהוֹן מְאָה רְתִיכִין:

And David captured from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers. And David destroyed all the chariots, but left a hundred chariots.

וַאֲתוֹ אֱנַשׁ אֲרַם דַמֶשֶׂק לְמִסְעֹד לַהֲדַדְעֶזֶר מַלְכָּא דְצוֹבָה וּמְחָא דָוִד בַּאֲרָם עַשְׂרִין וּתְרֵין אַלְפִין גַבְרָא:

And when the men of Aram of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck down twenty two thousand men of Aram.

וּמַנֵי דָוִד אִסְטַרְטִיגִין בַּאֲרַם דַמֶשֶׂק וַהֲווֹ אֱנַשׁ אֲרָם לְדָוִד לְעַבְדִין נַטְלֵי פְרָס וּפְרַק יְיָ יַת דָוִד בְּכָל אֲתַר דִי הֲלִיךְ:

Then David appointed praetors in Aram of Damascus, and the men of Aram became servants to David, bringing tribute. And the LORD saved David in whatever place he went.

וּנְסִיב דָוִד יַת שִׁלְטֵי דְדַהֲבָא דַהֲווֹ עַל עַבְדֵי הֲדַדְעֶזֶר וְאַיְתִינוּן לִירוּשְׁלֵם:

And David took the shields of gold which were [carried] by the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

וּמִבֶּטַח וּמִבֵּרוֹתַי קִרְוֵי הֲדַדְעֶזֶר נְסִיב מַלְכָּא דָוִד נְחָשָׁא סַגִי לַחֲדָא:

And from Betah and from Beroth, cities of Hadadezer, King David took very much bronze.

When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the whole army of Hadadezer,

וּשְׁלַח תּוֹעִי יַת יוֹרָם בְּרֵיהּ לְוַת מַלְכָּא דָוִד לְמִשְׁאַל לֵיהּ לִשְׁלָם וּלְבָרְכוּתֵיהּ עַל דְאַגִיחַ קְרָבָא בַּהֲדַדְעֶזֶר וְקַטְלֵיהּ אֲרֵי גְבַר עָבֵיד קְרָבִין עִם תּוֹעִי הֲוָה הֲדַדְעֶזֶר וְעִמֵיהּ הֲווֹ מָנֵי כַסְפָּא וּמָנֵי דַהֲבָא וּמָנֵי נְחָשָׁא:

Toi sent his son Joram to King David to inquire after his welfare and to bless him, because he had waged war against Hadadezer and killed him; for Hadadezer was a man often fighting battles against Toi. And he brought with him articles of silver, articles of gold, and articles of bronze.

אַף יַתְהוֹן אַקְדִישׁ מַלְכָּא דָוִד קֳדָם יְיָ עִם כַּסְפָּא וְדַהֲבָא דִי אַקְדִישׁ מִכָּל עַמְמַיָא דִי כַבֵּשׁ:

These also King David dedicated before the LORD, together with the silver and gold which he dedicated from all the nations he subdued,

מֵאֲרָם וּמִמוֹאָב וּמִבְּנֵי עַמוֹן וּמִפְּלִשְׁתָּאֵי וּמֵעֲמַלְקָאֵי וּמִבִּיזַת הֲדַדְעֶזֶר בַּר רְחוֹב מַלְכָּא דְצוֹבָה:

from Edom, Moab, the sons of Ammon, the Philistines, the Amalekites, and from the spoil of Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

וּכְנַשׁ דָוִד מַשִׁרְיַן כַּד תַּב מִלְמִמְחֵי יַת אֲרָם בְּגֵיא מֶלַח תַּמְנַת עֲסַר אַלְפִין:

And David gathered armies, when he returned from striking down Aram in the Valley of Salt: eighteen thousand men.

וּמַנֵי בֶאֱדוֹם אִסְטַרְטִיגִין בְּכָל אֱדוֹם מַנֵי אִסְטַרְטִיגִין וַהֲווֹ כָל אֱדוֹם עַבְדִין לְדָוִד וּפְרַק יְיָ יַת דָוִד בְכָל אֲתַר דִי הֲלִיךְ:

And he appointed praetors in Edom; throughout all Edom he appointed praetors, and all the men of Edom became David’s servants. And the LORD saved David in whatever place he went.

וּמְלַךְ דָוִד עַל כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל וַהֲוָה דָוִד עָבֵיד דִין דִקְשׁוֹט וְזָכוּ לְכָל עַמֵיהּ:

And David was king over all Israel. And David administered true justice and righteousness to all his people.

וְיוֹאָב בַּר צְרוּיָה מְמַנָא עַל חֵילָא וִיהוֹשָׁפָט בַּר אֲחִילוּד מְמַנָא עַל דָכְרָנַיָא:

Joab the son of Zeruiah was appointed over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was appointed over the records.

וְצָדוֹק בַּר אֲחִיטוּב וַאֲחִימֶלֶךְ בַּר אֶבְיָתָר כַּהֲנַיָא וּשְׂרָיָה סַפְרָא:

And Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests. And Seraiah was scribe.

וּבְנָיָהוּ בַּר יְהוֹיָדָע מְמַנָא עַל קַשְׁתַּיָא וְעַל קַלְעֲיָא וּבְנֵי דָוִד רַבְרְבִין הֲווֹ:

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was appointed over the archers and over the slingers. And the sons of David were teachers.
