על ס"ת שאינה עפוצה אם ראויה לברך עליה, כי יש מן החכמים שמכשירים ואומרים כי עבוד שלנו טוב וחזק בעבור הסיד שמשימין בו והכתיבה מתקיימת בו יותר מעל עבוד העפצים ויש אוסרין לברך עליהם ושאלתי הלכה כדברי מי:
Regarding reciting a blessing on a Torah scroll not processed with gall. Some sages permit such a scroll, since our contemporary processing of the parchment makes it strong and durable on account of the slaked lime used, and the writing is more permanent than on parchment processed with gall, as required by the Talmud¹. Other sages forbid reciting a blessing on such scrolls. I asked: which opinion is correct?
