"וְרֹחַב הַצֵּלָע אַרְבַּע אַמּוֹת" (יחזקאל מא, ה). וּבְבַיִת שֵׁנִי שֵׁשׁ אַמּוֹת.
The verse cited previously¹ 41:5, cited at the beginning of sec. 61. continues, “The width of the side-chamber (צלע) was 4 cubits.” In the Second Beis HaMikdash, the parallel structure was 6 cubits wide.² 4:7 states: “The cell was six.”

וְעַל הַצֵּלָע הַזֶּה עוֹד צֵלָע בָּנוּי עָלָיו, וְעָלָיו עוֹד צֵלָע. וְהֵן הַשָּׁלֹשׁ צְלָעוֹת מֵהַשָּׁלֹשׁ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים צְלָעוֹת שֶׁיִּתְבָּאֲרוּ בְּסִימָן ס"ד וְכוּ'.
There was a second side-chamber built on top of this side-chamber, and there was a third side-chamber built on top of the second. These were three of the 33 side-chambers that will be described in sec. 64.
וְאָמַר הַכָּתוּב (שם) "סָבִיב סָבִיב לַבַּיִת סָבִיב", וּבְסִימָן ס"ד וכו' נְבָאֵר זֶה בְּאֹרֶךְ לְכָל הַצֹּרֶךְ.
The verse states that the side-chambers, “surrounded the House all around.” In sec. 64, these side-chambers will be discussed in detail.³
