המקויימים בכל העולםכלומר הנמצאים בכל הנבראים:
מלפנו מבהמות ארץ ומעוף השמים יחכמנור"ל שאע"פ שגם לבהמות הארץ ועופות השמים נמצא עניני החכמה ודברים נפלאים כנודע לחכמי הטבע. עכ"ז אינם בהם רק לפי צורך קיום מינם. משא"כ יתרון המדברים הוא שחכמתם מקפת להבין סודי שאר הנבראים כדי להבין חפץ ה' ית' וחכמתו. וזש"ה מלפנו ר"ל למד אותנו יותר מבהמות הארץ והחכים אותנו יותר מעוף השמים:
Even though the animals of the land and the birds of the sky also possess signs of intelligence and amazing things, as known to the studiers of nature, nevertheless, this is set in them only according to their survival needs (it is a "practical intelligence" only), unlike the superiority of human beings whose wisdom is encompassing, allowing him to understand the secret of other creations, in order to understand through this the will of G-d, and His wisdom.
אך יותר גרוע ממנההנה הבהמה יש לה הכרה גדולה מה שהוא צריך לה לקיום מינה למזונותיה כמו שאמר הכתוב ידע שור קונהו וגו'. והאדם אינו מכיר בזה:
באשר הוא סוף כל האדם והחי יתן אל לבור"ל בעוד שהאדם חי צריך לחקור על תכלית האדם וסופו:
ואורח צדיקים כאור נוגהכלו' הצדיקים הולכים לאור נכון שהם הולכים לאור שכלם וצופים בחכמה לבחון איזה הוא הדרך הישרה שלא יכשלו בו:
The righteous go in the proper light, i.e. they follow the light of their intellects and gaze with wisdom to examine which path is the proper path so that they do not stumble.
**הוי מחשב הפסד מצוה וכו'**צריך לחקור ולעיין ההבדל שבין קיום המצות ובין מרעתה:
and the living will take it to his heart -- i.e. while a man is still alive, he must investigate the purpose of man and his end.
למדנו צניעות מחתולוזה מצד שאנו חייבין לבחון בברואיו:
צניעות מחתולשאינו מטיל גללים בפני בני אדם והיונה אינה מזדווגת רק לבן זוגה והתרנגול מפייס ואחר כך בועל והנמלה אינה גוזלת ממה שהכינה חברתה לעצמה:
