Longing and yearning are useful only if you know how to work with them so as to elevate your [state of consciousness] either slightly or profoundly. If not, unaware you will succumb to a kind of despair that will be born within a person. And this despair will then prompt one to say, “For all of these years have I been yearning [to self-improve] still I have yet to be successful. And so have I made peace with my lowly state” and so on will such a person’s yearning yield lose out [and,] perish the thought, [not create any value-added].
