You should not frighten a child with an unclean thing, by saying for instance, "A cat or a dog will get you" because the Sitra Achra is called by such names. It is as if one has given the Sitra Achra permission to harm the baby. I have heard of such an occurrence from a great person (See notes in Birkei Yosef YD 116)
