(שמות ל״ח:כ״א) אֵלֶּה פְקוּדֵי הַמִּשְׁכָּן מִשְׁכַּן הָעֵדוּת אֲשֶׁר פֻּקַּד עַל פִּי מֹשֶׁה וגוֹ'. רִבִּי חִיָיא פָּתַח, (קהלת א׳:ז׳) כָּל הַנְּחָלִים הוֹלְכִים אֶל הַיָּם וְהַיָּם אֵינֶנּוּ מָלֵא וְגוֹ'. הַאי קְרָא אוּקְמוּהָ וְאִתְּמַר, אֲבָל כָּל הַנְּחָלִים אִלֵּין רָזִין דִּנְחָלִין וּמַבּוּעִין קַדִּישִׁין, דְּאִתְמַלְּיָין, וְנָפְקִין (מבועין קדישין) לְאַנְהָרָא וּלְמַלְּיָיא לְהַאי יַמָּא רַבָּא, וְכֵיוָן דְּהַאי יַמָא רַבָּא אִתְמְלֵי מִסִּטְרָא דְּאִינּוּן נַחֲלִין כְּדֵין הוּא אַפִּיק מַיָּא, וְאַשְׁקֵי לְכָל חֵיוָון בָּרָא, כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמֵר (תהילים ק״ד:י״א) יַשְׁקוּ כָּל חַיְתוֹ שָׂדָי.
THESE ARE THE ACCOUNTS OF THE TABERNACLE, EVEN THE TABERNACLE OF THE TESTIMONY, AS THEY WERE RENDERED ACCORDING TO THE COMMANDMENT OF MOSES, ETC. R. Hiya, in this connection, quoted the verse: “All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full” (Eccles. 1, 7). ‘Esoterically speaking’, he said, ‘all the rivers here allude to the sacred brooks and springs which, when filled, pour forth to supply the great ocean. This in turn, when so filled, flows over and affords drink to all the “beasts of the field”.
מַה כְּתִיב לְעֵילָּא, הַמְשַׁלֵּחַ מַעְיָנִים וְגוֹ', וּלְבָתַר, יַשְׁקוּ כָּל חַיְתוֹ שָׂדָי יִשְׂבְּרוּ פְרָאִים צְמָאָם. אִלֵּין אִינּוּן רְתִיכִין דִּלְתַתָּא, דְּכַד יַמָּא נָקִיט לוֹן, כֻּלְּהוּ נָקִיט לוֹן, וְשָׁאִיב לוֹן בְּגַוִיהּ, וּלְבָתַר אַפִּיק מַיִין לְסִטְרָא אַחֲרָא, דְּאִינּוּן רְתִיכִין קַדִּישִׁין דִּלְתַתָּא, וְאַשְׁקֵי לוֹן. וְכֻלְּהוּ אִתְמְנוּן ואִתְפָּקְדוּן בִּשְׁמָא, כְּמָה דְאַתְּ אָמֵר (ישעיהו מ׳:כ״ו) לְכֻלָּם בְּשֵׁם יִקְרָא. וּבְגִין כַּךְ, (שמות לה) אֵלֶּה פְקוּדֵי הַמִּשְׁכָּן מִשְׁכַּן הָעֵדוּת.
These are the lower Chariot group, for, after the ocean has drawn in all the waters it lets them out towards one side, namely, towards the lower Holy Chariots, giving them drink. Now, these are all numbered and noted by name, as we read: “He calleth them all by name” (Isa. 40, 26). Similarly, “These are the accounts of the tabernacle, even the tabernacle of the testimony”.’
