וְהַהוּא סִטְרָא אַחֲרָא, אִיהוּ נְקוּדָה אֶמְצָעִיתָא דְּחָרִיבוּ דְּעָלְמָא, בְּגִין דְּכָל חָרִיבוּ וְשִׁמָמוֹן (ס"א מניה, הוא מההוא סטרא אחרא דשליט) מִנֵיהּ, הַהוּא סִטְרָא אַחֲרָא שַׁלִּיט עָלֵיהּ. וּנְקוּדָה אֶמְצָעִיתָא דְּכָל יִשּׁוּבָא, סִטְרָא דִּקְדוּשָּׁה אִיהוּ, וְעַל דָּא, קַיְּימָא יְרוּשָׁלַ ם בְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא דְּכָל יִשּׁוּבָא דְּעָלְמָא.
That “other side” is the central point of the waste places of the world, just as the central point of the whole inhabited world is occupied by the “holy side”, and therefore Jerusalem is in the centre of the inhabited world.
בִּתְרֵין נְקוּדִין אִתְפְּרָשַׁת מָלְכוּ שְׁמַיָא, סִטְרָא דִּקְדוּשָּׁא, חַד דִּילָהּ, וְחַד דְּעָלְמָא דְּאָתֵי, נְקוּדָה עִלָּאָה טְמִירָאָה, וְעַל דָּא קַיְּימָא בִּתְרֵין נְקוּדִין: נְקוּדָה דִּילָהּ קַיְּימָא תְּחוֹתָהּ, יְרוּשָׁלַ ם, אֶמְצָעִיתָא דְּכָל יִשּׁוּבָא. נְקוּדָא דְּנַטְלָא מֵאִימָא עִלָּאָה טְמִירָא, (רי"ט ע"ב, רפ"א ע"ב) אִיהוּ גַּן עֵדֶן דְּאַרְעָא, דְּקַיְּימָא בְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא דְּכָל עָלְמָא, לְכָל סִטְרִין, דְּחָרִיבוּ וְיִשׁוּבָא, וְכָל סִטְרִין דְּעָלְמָא.
The kingdom of heaven, which is the side of holiness, is fixed at two points, one its own and one belonging to the world to come. The upper point is hidden, and therefore it has two points. Under its own point is Jerusalem, the centre of the inhabited world. The point which takes from the hidden supernal Mother is the terrestrial Paradise, which is in the centre of the whole world.
וְעַל דָּא, בְּאֶמְצָעִיתָא (קל"ב ע"ב) דְּגַן עֵדֶן, קַיְּימָא נְקוּדָה חֲדָא עִלָּאָה טְמִירָא וּגְנִיזָא, דְּלָא יְדִיעַ. וְחַד עַמּוּדָא, נָעִיץ מִתַּתָּא לְעֵילָּא, גּוֹ הַהִיא נְקוּדָה, וּמִתַּמָּן נַבְעֵי מַיָּא, דְּאִתְפְּרִישׁוּ לְאַרְבַּע סִטְרֵי עָלְמָא. אִשְׁתְּכָחוּ תְּלַת נְקוּדִין בְּעָלְמָא, דְּקַיְימָאן דָּא עַל דָּא, כְּגַוְונָא דִּתְלַת נְקוּדִין דְּאוֹרַיְיתָא.
In the centre of this Paradise there is a hidden supernal point which is not manifested, and a pillar rises within that point from below, and from thence issue waters which spread to all four sides of the world. Thus there are three points which stand one upon the other, like the three sections of the Torah (Law, Prophets, Writings).
