The Shulchan Aruch begins with the mandate to always be aware of Hashem and ends with the mandate to always be in a state of joy. My father taught that these are the "Two Constants" of a Jew, paralleling the daily offerings in the Temple. When we combine the focus of the mind with the joy of the heart, we translate our spiritual elevation into practical acts of kindness (Chesed), fulfilling G-d’s ultimate intent for the world. https://www.torahrecordings.com/classes/by_month/007_adar2/purim_010
