TorahLM is a free, read-only text and research service from TorahApp. This page explains what information is handled when you use TorahLM.org, its API, or its remote MCP server.

Information we receive

Reading and searching TorahLM does not require an account, login, or authentication. Requests to the website, API, and MCP server may be recorded in aggregate service analytics, including the requested resource, language, client type, user-agent string, and approximate location derived by Cloudflare. We deliberately do not record the raw client IP address in our application analytics. Records of requests we refuse may include a short-lived, non-reversible technical identifier derived from network information, used only to investigate abuse and service reliability. It is not a long-term visitor identifier, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Some test deployments may offer optional lecture transcription. If you use it, TorahLM creates an anonymous account tied to a random browser cookie and stores the transcription-provider key you submit in encrypted form. Private, unreviewed dev jobs and results are deleted after seven days. Provider keys are deleted after 90 days without use. Clearing the browser cookie makes that anonymous account unreachable from the browser, but a previously authorized client may retain access until its grant expires or is revoked.

If you voluntarily submit an email address through the optional NotebookLM builder update form, we store it with the request context so we can provide project updates. We do not sell email addresses.

How information is used

Service analytics are used to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the corpus and its infrastructure. Email addresses submitted for updates are used only for those project communications. Anonymous account data and provider keys are used only to run a transcription that you request.

Third-party services and sources

TorahLM is delivered through Cloudflare and retrieves or mirrors material from sources such as Sefaria, Halachipedia, Dicta, and podcast providers. Those services may have their own privacy policies. TorahLM does not send your questions to an AI model. If you explicitly start the optional transcription tool, TorahLM sends the approved lecture recording to Google Gemini using the provider key you supplied. Google handles that recording under its own terms and privacy policy.

Your choices

You can read and search without submitting personal information. The optional transcription account page lets you replace or delete a stored provider key. To ask about or remove an email address submitted through the builder, or to ask a privacy question, contact support@torahlm.org.
