שִׁירָא דְאִתְאַמַר עַל מַסוּקִין דִתְהוֹמָא קֳדָם יְיָ כַּד עַיִקִ לִי צְלֵיתִי וְקַבֵּל צְלוֹתִי:
The song that is said on the ascents from the abyss. Before Adonai, when I was distressed, I prayed, and He received my prayer.
יְיָ פְּצֵי נַפְשִי מִסְפְוָתָא דְשִׁקְרָא מִן לִישָׁנָא נְכִילְתָּא:
Adonai saves my soul from the lips of falsehood, from the deceitful tongue.
מָא יְהֵיב לָךְ מַלְשִׁינָא וּמָא יוֹסִיף לָךְ אָכִיל קוּרְצִי לִישָׁנָא נְכִילְתָא:
What will it give you, badmouther, and what benefit to you, informant, is the deceitful tongue?
גִרְרִין דְגִבָּרָא שְׁנוּנִין הֵיךְ בַּרְקִין מִלְעֵיל עִם גוּמְרֵי רִתְמִין דְדָלְקִין בִּגְהִנָם מִלְרַע:
Sharp arrows of a warrior, like lightning above, with coals of broom wood that burn in hell below.
וַי לִי אַרוּם אִתּוֹתְבִית עִם אוֹסָאֵי שְׁרֵית עִם מַשְׁכְּנֵיהוֹן דַעֲרָבָאֵי:
Woe is me, since I am made to live with the Asians, to dwell in the tents of the Arabs!
יַתִּיר מִנְהוֹן שְׁרָת נַפְשִׁי עִם אֱדוֹם סָנֵי שְׁלָם:
Too long has my soul lived with Edom, hater of peace.
אֲנָא שְׁלָם וַאֲרוּם אֲצַלֵי הִנוּן לִקְרָבָא:
I am peace, and since I pray they go to war.
