Adonoy said to Moshe, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what Adonoy, God of the Hebrews has said, Send out My people and let them serve Me.

Then the Lord said to Moshe, Go in to Par῾o, and tell him, Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

And the L-rd said to Moses: Come to Pharaoh and speak to him: Thus said the L-rd, the G-d of the Hebrews: Send out My people and let them serve Me.

For if you refuse to send them out, and continue holding them;

For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,

For if you refuse to send (them) and continue holding them,

behold, the hand of Adonoy is directed at your livestock that are in the field—upon the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the cattle and the sheep—there will be a very heavy [serious] plague.

behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous plague.

Behold, the hand of the L-rd is in your cattle in the field, in the horses, in the asses, in the camels, in the herd, and in the flock — a very sore pestilence.

Adonoy will distinguish between the livestock of the [B’nei] Yisrael and the livestock of Egypt. None belonging to the B’nei Yisrael will die.’”

And the Lord shall separate the cattle of Yisra᾽el from the cattle of Miżrayim: and nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Yisra᾽el.

And the L-rd will distinguish between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt, and there will die naught of all that appertains to the children of Israel.

Adonoy has set a time, saying, Tomorrow Adonoy will do this thing in the land.

And the Lord appointed a set time, saying, Tomorrow the Lord shall do this thing in the land.

And the L-rd set a time, saying: Tomorrow the L-rd shall do this thing in the land.

Adonoy did this thing on the next day, and all the livestock in Egypt died, but of the livestock of the B’nei Yisrael, not one died.

And the Lord did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Miżrayim died: but of the cattle of the children of Yisra᾽el not one died.

And the L-rd did this thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died. And of the cattle of the children of Israel, not one died.

Pharaoh sent [scouts] and behold not a single animal of the B’nei Yisrael died. The heart of Pharaoh remained hard and he did not send out the people.

And Par῾o sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of Yisra᾽el dead. And the heart of Par῾o was hard, and he did not let the people go.

And Pharaoh sent and, behold, not even one had died of the cattle of Israel; and Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not send out the people.

Adonoy spoke to Moshe and Aharon, “Both of you take full handfuls of furnace soot and let Moshe throw it heavenward before the eyes of Pharaoh.

And the Lord said to Moshe and to Aharon, Take for yourselves handfuls of soot of the furnace, and let Moshe sprinkle it heaven- wards in the sight of Par῾o.

And the L-rd said to Moses and to Aaron: Take for yourselves your full handfuls of furnace-soot, and let Moses fling it heavenwards before the eyes of Pharaoh.

It will become a fine dust [and settle] over the whole land of Egypt. It will settle on man and beast causing a rash which will break out into boils [affecting] the whole land of Egypt.”

And it shall become small dust in all the land of Miżrayim, and shall be a pox breaking out in blisters upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Miżrayim.

And it shall be dust over all the land of Egypt. And it will be upon man and beast, boils sprouting blisters in all the land of Egypt.

They took the furnace soot and stood before Pharaoh. Moshe threw it heavenward, and it caused a rash which broke into boils in man and beast.

And they took soot of the furnace, and stood before Par῾o; and Moshe sprinkled it up heavenwards; and it became a pox breaking out in blisters on man and beast.

And they took the furnace-soot and stood before Pharaoh, and Moses flung it heavenwards, and it became blister-sprouting boils in man and beast [(those beasts which the G-d-fearing among the Egyptians had taken into their houses during the pestilence (compare 20), only those in the field dying (3)].

The sorcerers could not stand before Moshe as a result of the rash, for the rash affected the sorcerers as well as all of Egypt.

And the magicians could not stand before Moshe because of the pox; for the pox was on the magicians, and on all Miżrayim.

And the necromancers could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were in the necromancers and in all of Egypt.

Adonoy caused Pharaoh’s heart to remain hard and he did not listen to them just as Adonoy had spoken to Moshe.

And the Lord hardened the heart of Par῾o, and he hearkened not to them; as the Lord had spoken to Moshe.

And the L-rd strengthened Pharaoh's heart and he did not heed them, as the L-rd had said to Moses.

Adonoy said to Moshe, “Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh, and say to him, ‘This is what Adonoy, God of the Hebrews, has said, “Send out My people and let them serve Me.

And the Lord said to Moshe, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Par῾o, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

And the L-rd said to Moses: Rise early in the morning and appear before Pharaoh, and say to him: Thus said the L-rd, the G-d of the Hebrews: Send out My people and let them serve Me.

For this time, I will send all My plagues against your [very] heart. [They will strike] your servants and your people, so that you will know that there is none like Me in all the earth.

For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thy heart, and on thy servants, and on thy people; that thou mayst know that there is none like me in all the earth.

For this time I am sending all of My plagues against your heart and in your servants and in your people, so that you know that there is none like Me in the whole land.

For now I [could] have extended My hand, and struck you and your people with the pestilence, and you would have been obliterated from the earth.

For now if I would stretch out my hand, I might smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shouldst be cut off from the earth.

For now [in the plague of pestilence] I could have stretched forth My hand and smitten you and your people with pestilence, and you would have gone lost from the earth.

Nevertheless, for this reason I have let you survive—to show you My strength—so that My Name will be declared throughout all the earth.

And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, to show in thee my power; and that my name may be proclaimed throughout all the earth.

But, because of this I have preserved you, in order to show you My might, and that My name be spoken in all the land.

But you are still oppressing My people refusing to send them out.

If as yet thou dost exalt thyself against my people, so as not to let them go,

You still tread My people down, not letting them go.

Tomorrow at this time, I will cause it to rain a tremendously heavy hail. There was never anything like it in Egypt, from the time it was founded until now.

behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Miżrayim since its foundation until now.

Behold, I shall rain down as at this time tomorrow [(when the sun reaches this mark that I have inscribed on the wall)] a very sore hail, the like of which has not been in Egypt from the day of its founding until now.

Now send [word] and gather [shelter] your livestock and all that you have in the field. Any man or beast that is found [remains] in the field and will not be brought into the house [indoors]—the hail will descend upon them and they will die.”

Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down, and they shall die.

And now, send, gather in your cattle and everything you have in the field. Every man and beast found in the field which will not be taken into the house — the hail will descend upon them and they will die.

He that feared the word of Adonoy among Pharaoh’s servants, made his servants and his livestock flee into the houses [indoors].

He that feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Par῾o made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:

Those who feared the word of the L-rd among the servants of Pharaoh drove their servants and their cattle into the houses.

But he whose heart did not heed the word of Adonoy, left his servants and his livestock in the field.

and he that regarded not the word of the Lord left his servants and his cattle in the field.

And whoever did not take to heart the word of the L-rd left his servants and his cattle in the field.

Adonoy said to Moshe, “Extend your hand toward the heavens, and there will be hail throughout the land of Egypt—on man and on beast, and upon all the vegetation in the land of Egypt.”

And the Lord said to Moshe, Stretch out thy hand towards heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Miżrayim, on man and beast, and on every plant of the field, throughout the land of Miżrayim.

And the L-rd said to Moses: Stretch your hand towards the heavens and there will be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and on beast, and on all the grass in the field in the land of Egypt.

Moshe extended his rod toward the heavens, and Adonoy sent thunder and hail, and fire came streaming down upon the earth. Adonoy caused it to rain hail on the land of Egypt.

And Moshe stretched out his rod towards heaven: and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran down upon the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Miżrayim.

And Moses stretched his staff towards the heavens, and the L-rd sent thunders and hail, and fire coursed to the ground, and the L-rd rained hail on the land of Egypt.

There was hail and fire [lightning] flashing among the hailstones. It was an extremely heavy [downfall]. There had never been anything like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

So there was hail, and fire flaring up amidst the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Miżrayim since it became a nation.

And there was hail, and fire flaming within the hail, extremely sore, the like of which had not been in the land of Egypt since it had become a nation.

The hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, [killing] all that was in the field [outdoors]—both man and beast. All the vegetation in the fields was struck by the hail and every tree in the fields was shattered.

And the hail smote throughout all the land of Miżrayim all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every plant of the field, and broke every tree of the field.

And the hail smote in all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, from man until beast. And the hail smote all the grass in the field and broke all the trees in the field.

Only in the land of Goshen where the B’nei Yisrael were, there was no hail.

Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Yisra᾽el were, was there no hail.

Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.

Pharaoh sent, and called for Moshe and Aharon, and he said to them, “This time I have sinned. Adonoy is the righteous One and I and my people are the sinners.

And Par῾o sent, and called for Moshe and Aharon, and said to them, I have sinned this time: the Lord is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

And Pharaoh sent and he called to Moses and to Aaron, and he said to them: I have sinned this time. The L-rd is the righteous one and I and my people are the wicked ones.

Pray to Adonoy There has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will send you out without further delay.”

Entreat the Lord that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.

Entreat the L-rd, and enough of thunders of G-d and hail! And I will send you and you will be detained no longer.

Moshe said to him, “When I leave the city, I will spread my hands to Adonoy. The thunder will cease and their will be no more hail, so that you will know that the earth belongs to Adonoy.

And Moshe said to him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands to the Lord; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayst know that the earth is the Lord’s.

And Moses said to him: When I leave the city [(which was full of idolatry)], I shall spread out my hands to the L-rd. The thunders will stop and there will be no more hail, so that you will know that the earth is the L-rd's.

But regarding you and your servants, I know that you are not yet in fear of Adonoy, Elohim.

But as for thee and thy servants, I know that you will not yet fear the Lord God.

But you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear the L-rd G-d [and that you will revert to your perverseness with the cessation of the hail.]

The flax and barley have been broken since the barley was ripe, and the flax had formed into stalks.

And the flax and the barley were struck: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was in bud.

And the flax and the barley were broken [by the hail], for the barley was ripe [and hard] and the flax was in stalk.

But neither the wheat or the spelt were broken since they are late in sprouting.”

But the wheat and the spelt were not struck: for they were late ripening.

But the wheat and the spelt were not broken, for they were late growths [and, therefore, soft].

Moshe [then] left Pharaoh’s presence, and left the city. He spread his hands [in prayer] to Adonoy. The thunder ceased, and the hail and the rain did not reach the earth.

And Moshe went out of the city from Par῾o, and spread out his hands to the Lord: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was no longer poured upon the earth.

And Moses went away from Pharaoh out of the city, and he spread out his hands to the L-rd, and the thunders stopped and the hail, and rain did not reach the ground.

[When] Pharaoh saw that the rain, and the hail and the thunder ceased, he continued his sin[ful ways]. He and his servants hardened their hearts.

And when Par῾o saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders had ceased, he sinned yet again, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

And Pharaoh saw that the rain stopped, and the hail and the thunders, and he continued to sin; and he hardened his heart, he and his servants.

Pharaoh’s heart was strengthened, and he did not send the B’nei Yisrael out. This was just as Adonoy had spoken through Moshe.

And the heart of Par῾o was hard, neither would he let the children of Yisra᾽el go; as the Lord had spoken by Moshe.

And Pharaoh's heart was strengthened and he did not send out the children of Israel, as the L-rd had spoken by the hand of Moses.
